Merry Monday Challenge on Wednesday!!

Today I made another Christmas card using Lesley's weekly Merry Monday Challenge. This is sketch #22. I haven't played every week, but almost, so I have quite a head start on my Christmas Cards. And that makes me happy!!

The card base is cranberry CS with a layer of green CS. The dp is some from my stash, which is layered on the same cranberry CS. The main image is DRS Designs' beautiful cardinal (856M). It is stamped in Memento black, colored with Copics and cut with a circle nestie, then layered on a scallop nestie. I added some sparkly ribbon and bow along with some nail heads to finish the look.  Hope you like it.

Until next time,

Happy Memorial Day!!

Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend celebrating this special day of remembering our service men and women!

Today I have a birthday card to share with you. My daughter in law loves to bake cupcakes so I thought I'd make her a birthday card that features cupcakes. JoAnn's had all their paper crafting supplies half off last week and I bought this EK Success Cupcake Chain punch on sale! I really like it!

The card base is a light green card stock with a layer of white card stock attached. I punched the cupcake chain in the same light green CS three times and added them to the white layer. I colored the icing in light pink with a Copic marker. The main image is DRS Designs sweet cup cake image (463E) which was stamped on white CS with Memento Black ink, colored with Copics and then cut out. I stamped DRS Designs Birthday Wishes (020B) in Memento Black ink on a white nestie circle which is layered on a scallop circle of the green CS. The cupcake was attached above the greeting with a large pop dot to give some dimension. Finally I added some red nail heads to the cupcake chains for the cherries. Hope you like it.

Merry Monday #21 and DRS Designs' Weekly Challenge

Hi Everyone,

Today I want to share two cards. One is for DRS Designs' Weekly Challenge. This week we are to make masculine cards. I created a Father's Day Card using DRS Designs (1111K) harbor stamp.

I started with pale green card stock, added a teal blue layer that was border punched and embossed with a CB border folder. The image was stamped with Memento Black and colored with Copics. After cutting it with an oval nestie, I sponged some Bashful blue for the sky. It's layered on a scallop oval in the same green as the base and attached with pop dots in the center of the card. Some star brads were added to finish the look. Come check out the creations at DRS Designs and play along in this week's challenge!!

I also made a Christmas Card for Lesley's weekly Merry Monday challenge.

The card base on this one is white with a layer of dark green. The middle panel is white card stock punched with a MS border. A layer of cranberry card stock was added and then a layer of DCWV DP was added along with a cranberry ribbon. The main image is DRS Designs' (870H) Wishing You greeting, which was stamped in Stazon Jet Black, cut with an oval nestie and attached to a  cranberry scallop oval. After attaching the sentiment to the card, I used a MS punch for the holly leaves. Red nail heads were used for the berries. I also added some nail heads to the right hand side to finish off the card.

If you are interested in getting a head start on your Christmas cards, check out Lesley's blog. She has a new sketch each Monday. It's a fun way to get started on those cards and avoid the rush later on!!

Thanks for taking a look.

Musical Birthday

Happy Monday Everyone. Hope you had a good weekend!

Today I want to share a birthday card created with a couple of newly released stamps from DRS Designs - Marching Band Trumpet (056G) and Beat the Band Birthday (076E). These two stamps pair nicely with the Happy Birthday Music Background stamp (763P).

I started with a black card base and added a red panel that was embossed with the CB Happy Birthday folder. Before attaching the red panel I added the two pieces of red and black ribbon. The music background was stamped in black on white CS and cut out with a nestie. It's layered on a black scalloped circle and attached to the red panel. The Marching Band Trumpet was also stamped in black on white CS, colored with copics and then cut out. He's attached with pop dots for some dimension. The sentiment was stamped in the same black ink on white CS. I cut the sentiment into two pieces, sponged the edges with Real Red ink and then layered them on black CS. They are attached in the corners over the ribbon. To finish it off I added a music clip I found at Hobby Lobby on clearance. Gotta love those sale items!

Until next time,

Merry Monday #19 on a Tuesday :-)

I'm leaving for GA tomorrow to visit with my kids and wanted to make sure I got my Christmas card completed for Lesley's Merry Monday Challenge. This is the 19th challenge. Wow, can you believe it's been 19 weeks since Christmas? Anyway, here's my card for her challenge this week.

I tried to use the colors for today's color challenge at SCS, but I'm not sure I got the blue correct. The base is crumb, with a Certainly Celery layer stamped with DRS Designs' 4 in 1 snowflake stamp (096D). The DP is DCWV and is layered on blue CS. The sentiment is DRS Designs' Christmas Memories (870H). The side panel was punched with a MS border punch. The crumb panel was embossed with the CB snowflake folder.
A crumb colored ribbon and bow were added to finish the look. Hope you like it.

Check out Lesley's blog to play along!  http://www.alwaysplayingwithpaper.blogspot.com/

Mother's Day

Happy Monday! Today I want to share a clean and simple Mother's Day card made with DRS Designs newest Mother's Day greeting (035D) and the recently released Dogwood Branch (1092H).

My card base is white with a Certainly Celery panel attached. On top of this I attached a white panel that was embossed with a CB embossing folder after the "On Mother's Day" sentiment was stamped in Certainly Celery ink in the lower right hand corner. A polka dotted ribbon was added before attaching it to the white base. The Dogwood was stamped in Certainly Celery ink on white card stock and cut out with a nestie circle and attached to a Certainly Celery scalloped circle, cut with nesties. The butterfly was made using a Spellbinder's die. I added some half pearls to the butterfly before attaching it to my card. Hope you like it.
