Warm Wishes

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Today I have winter snowman card to share with you that features our soon to be released medium Mr. Snowman image. He's a perfect size and so easy to color.

I started by stamping the snowman image (242H) in Memento Black ink, coloring him with Copics and then fussy cutting him out. The background was stamped with our Interlocking snowflake stamp in Taken With Teal ink. Warm Wishes was stamped in black ink, die cut and some teal ink was sponged around the edges. The tiny snowman is part of a new Stamped Especially for you image (239C) that would go on the back of your card. I stamped it, colored the snowman with Copics to match the big image, then fussy cut and attached him to the sentiment banner with some foam dots. I used a Sakura Stardust Gelly Roll pen to add some shimmer. If you look closely you might be able to see some sparkle in the centers of the snowflakes. Some ribbon and bakers twine complete the look.

Merry Christmas

Just thought I'd share a card I created for this week's challenge at DRS Designs. The challenge is Winter Wonderland.

I started by stamping the snow lines in black ink, then I added the trees, walking couple, snowman and lamp post. After coloring everything, I masked the bottom and sponged in some Night of Navy ink for the sky. Once the ink was dried I stamped on the tiny snowflakes with Colorbox White ink. The Merry Christmas greeting was stamped in black ink and then some stickles were added to the snow lines and shadows. The panel was die cut with a nestie and then attached to a shaped card created with the next largest die. Some peace on earth ribbon completes the look.

For Your Shower

I'm taking a break from Christmas cards and sharing a shower card I created for a friend who's wedding shower is coming up quickly!

The umbrella was stamped with Memento Black ink, colored with Copics and fussy cut. I used the blending pen to create some dots on the darker blue panels of the umbrella. The Rain Down sentiment was stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with detail white EP, then die cut with a nestie. I stamped the For Your Shower Sentiment in black ink on the white panel before embossing it with a Darice flower EF. Everything is attached to the blue card base. Some rhinestones and a sheer white bow finish it off.

DRS Weekly Challenge

It's a color challenge at DRS Designs this week. Here are the colors to choose from.



And here's the card I created.

I used yesterday's sketch challenge at Split Coast Stampers for the layout. The stars and sentiment are stamped in Silver ink and then embossed with silver EP. Some glitter paper and silver dots complete the look. I really like the color combo of silver and blue!

Merry Christmas

Christmas will soon be here!! Are you ready? I'm not. I seem to be rather behind so today's card is a fairly quick and easy card to create. I stamped the background in Real Red and Handsome Hunter inks using the Woven Plaid stamp that's been cut apart. You can create some really cute plaids this way. The bottom half was embossed with a Paper Studio poinsettia folder. The main image was stamped twice in Memento Black ink, colored with copics, cut and layered on some red and green CS. I added some sparkle to the magic grain with a Sakura Gelly Roll pen. The Merry Christmas is part of the Multi greeting stamp, another one I've cut apart! After die cutting it out, some real red ink was sponged along the edges. Some ric rac and sequins finish it off. Hope you like it.

Christmas Ornaments

Hi Everyone,

Today I have something other than a card to share with you. My 8 year old grandson is into Dominoes, not the pizza, though he does love Domino Pizza. He builds elaborate towers and long twisting trains with dominoes and then knocks them down. He doesn't use regular dominoes, he has Bulk ones, they are colorful and lighter weight. I am amazed at what he can do with those dominoes. He is much more patient than his grandma. I could never sit there and build like that only to knock it down! Anyway, in honor of Isaac, I decided to create some Christmas ornaments using regular
dominoes.

I stamped the images in Stazon Tuxedo Black ink, colored them Sharpie markers and then added a layer of Glossy Accents. Once the Glossy Accents dried, I added the ribbon using some strong double sided tape. The hardest part for me was tying the bows onto the ribbon at the top of the domino. I couldn't figure out how to use my bow easy for this!! :-(

I started with the snowman and Percy Penguin stamps, but then decided to try and use some of the Christmas Village stamps. I really like how the church turned out, as well as the lamp post.

If you have some old dominoes around the house, you could give this a try! They really are cute.

Challenges

 

Today I have two cards to share with you. Both are for challenges. The first is for DRS Designs weekly Thursday challenge. This week is "Hot Trends." And the hot trend is glitter. I used red, green and white glitter CS as well as white stickles for the snow. It's pretty sparkly!

The main image is DRS Designs' new Christmas Village Cabin. It's becoming one of my favorite stamps! I stamped it in Memento black ink, colored it with Copics, added some opaque white ink to the tress for snow and then the stickles to the roof and snow lines for the snow. The Merry Christmas greeting was stamped in black. The rest of the card is pretty simple - lots of glitter paper and some punched glittery snowflakes.

My second card is for this week's Merry Monday challenge to use a bird on your card.

 I also used the colors from this week's Color Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. Color challenges are really challenging for me. I struggled with this card, but I like the result. The colors were red, green and brown, which sound pretty simple, right? I had a hard time with the brown. Finally I decided to use it in the plaid background. I love plaids for Christmas!

I stamped the background using DRS Designs woven plaid stamp, that I cut apart so I could stamp with two colors more easily. The bird was created with the SU two step bird punch. The wing was embossed with the same CB folder as the green panel. I sponged the bird with memento cocoa ink and made a little nest for him with the MS pine branch punch. The sentiment is part of the Christmas Multi greeting stamp. I die cut it, then outlined it with a red gel pen and sponged on a little cocoa ink. A punched bow and photo corners complete the card.

Calla Lily

Happy Cyber Monday! If you didn't get to shop on Black Friday, today's the make up day. At least that's how I think it is suppose to work. I avoid Black Friday like the plague! It's way too crowded and crazy for me. And I don't do much on line shopping, so today I'll spend the day stamping and creating gifts of my own.

Today I'm taking a break from sharing a Christmas card with you, a friend lost her father just before Thanksgiving and this is the card I created for her. It's never easy to lose someone, but it's especially difficult when so close to a holiday. I hope and pray this card brings a little comfort to her.

I started by stamping the image in Memento Black ink, coloring it with Copics, punching the corners and layering it on some green CS. In real life the green of the leaves really does match the CS. I'm not too great with the camera. It's set on auto everything for me. I'm sure there's a way to get the true color, but...

Anyway, after getting the main image ready, I die cut the Corner Sprigs with a new SB die I got last week and layered it on some white CS that was embossed with a basket weave folder. All the layers were punched on the corners to match the image panel and some tiny white half pearls complete the look.
