2018

Happy Monday Everyone. DRS Designs has some new images that will be released soon and I think you are going to like them. My card today features the new Grad Pig (567E) and the fun greeting Go Hog Wild (568B). This little pig is just too cute!

First I stamped the little pig onto white CS, colored him with some Copics and then fussy cut him. The white background was stamped with the Graduation Background image using Stazon Dove Gray ink. The black panel was embossed with a Darice Stars folder. Some gingham ribbon was added to hide the seam. The greeting was stamped with black ink, die cut with a banner die and attached for foam squares for some dimension. The numbers were cut using a Cricut Alphabet cartridge. The diploma was die cut using an Impression Obsession die. I glued the little Grad Pig inside the 0 trying to get it to look like he's walking through it.

Here's a look at the inside of the card. I used my favorite grad greeting and the tassel image.

Be sure to check back tomorrow and the next days to see what the other team members do with these new images and greetings. Thanks for stopping by today.

Birthday Bouquet

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. We have finally had a couple of consecutive days with sunshine and more normal temperatures. It's beginning to feel like spring!

I went to a local craft store the other day to get one specific die. Well, you can probably guess what happened. I did get that die set, but saw something else and well..... Here are a couple of birthday cards I created using this new fun flower die from Gina Marie.

First I worked on the backgrounds by adding a few colors of TH Distress Oxide inks to some Glossy paper. Once the panels dried I rubbed on some TH Distress Micro Glaze. The glaze really brings out the color and makes it more permanent.

Next I die cut the flowers (all one die) from the white and black panels. I used the outline die just to emboss the edges to give the flowers a bit more definition. The Birthday Wishes greeting was stamped with Versafine Onyx ink on the white panel and heat embossed in white on the black panel.

I really like how these turned out. Thanks for stopping by today.

more birthdays

Hi Everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. I have a couple of birthday cards to share with you today. The first one was super easy to create. I die cut the butterflies from a rainbow of pastels and arranged them on some cream CS that was embossed with a CB birthday EF. The tiny birthday greeting was stamped onto the same cream CS, die cut and layered onto a die cut circle. Everything was attached to a cream card base.

My second card uses this week's sketch for the weekly Splitcoast Stamper Sketch challenge and some new flower dies from Spellbinders.

I started by die cutting the flowers from dark and light purple CS as well as the flower stems and leaves from green CS. the Happy, happy, happy day greeting was stamped onto white CS, die cut and layered onto a dark purple panel. The light panel was embossed with the same CB birthday EF. I really like this sketch and how this card came together.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Birthday Greetings

Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend and had some time to get creative. I have several birthdays coming up this month and next, so I've been working on Birthday cards. I was in Virginia last week and my daughter took me to an AC Moore store where I found the dies to create this tiered cake. I thought it would make a fun birthday cake, so...

I started with some water color paper and stamped the Script Font background image with versamark ink, heat embossed it with white EP and then sponged on some TH Distress Oxide inks. While that dried I die cut the cake layers and tray. I used some of the same distress inks to color the frosting and candle. The small Birthday greeting was stamped with Versafine Onyx ink, die cut and layered a silve panel to match the cake tray. Some lacy ribbon and silver bling complete the look.

This was a fun card to create. I will need a wedding card next month and I think I'll use this cake die for that. I wonder if I can find an itty bitty bride and groom to go on top?!!

Thanks for stopping by today.

A Golden Welcome

Hi Everyone. Hope you had a wonderful Easter. I was thrilled to be able to spend Easter with my kids and family in Virginia. I had a marvelous time with them and today, I'm back on the road headed home to OH.

My card today features the new Welcome oval. If you follow DRS Designs' blog, then I'm sure you will recognize this image, though you may not have seen the word welcome on it. Most of us have covered it up and used the beautiful image on Easter cards. But today I thought I'd share it as it is.

To begin I used water color paper and sponged on some TH Distress Oxide inks and then flicked on some metallic gold water color paint. While that dried I stamped the beautiful welcome oval with Gold ink and heat embossed it with Gold EP. It was die cut and layered onto a scalloped oval die cut from metallic gold CS. Everything is layered onto the same metallic gold CS and then onto the white card base. I really like the way this turned out.

Thanks for stopping by today.
