No coloring Challenge

The Shining Light Challenge at ODBD is no coloring. I used to find it easy to create a card with no coloring, but now....

I need an anniversary card for our senior pastor and his wife, so I used ODBD To the Lovebirds and Banner Sentiments as well as their matching dies. Here's my card.

I started by stamping all the individual elements that were going to be die cut: birds, birdcage, etc. Once these were die cut, I used a Spellbinders set to die cut the lavender and pink panels and put the card together, adding some pink ribbon and a bow.

Easter Bunny Wannabes??

Happy Monday! My card today features our new bunny ears, which I used on these adorable sleepover chicks. I started by stamping the chicks on white CS with Memento Black ink. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to place the bunny ears, colored the image with Copics and fussy cut. The pink panel was embossed with a CB chevron folder and layered on purple CS, The greeting was stamped with black ink and die cut. I used foam dots to place the chicks for some dimension. Some plastic flowers and half pearls complete the look. Hope you like it!!

DRS Designs Color Challenge & Merry Monday Challenge

The challenge at DRS Designs is a color challenge. The colors are perfect for St. Patrick's Day card and Easter cards. Here's the photo for inspiration.

 

Here's the St. Patrick's Day card I created for this challenge.

I started by using a green gelato to do a color wash on some water color paper. I used a nestie to die cut this panel and then stamped the new Irish Inventory sentiment in Stazon Tuxedo Black ink. The panel was layered on green CS and then on a white card base. The shamrocks were punched out with a MS punch and sponged around the edges for some definition before attaching them to the card. Some small orange rhinestones were added to the centers to complete the look. Hope you like it.

My next card is for this week's Merry Monday Challenge to use a Santa on your card. My favorite Santa image from DRS Designs is Wintertime Buddies. I think it's the cutest image.

I stamped the Wintertime Buddies on white CS with Memento Black ink, colored with Copics and die cut with a square nestie. It's layered on some red CS and some small punched snowflakes and rhinestones were added to the image. The blue panel was dry embossed with a Darice snowflake folder, another one of my favs. Some white lace and a "joy" button with some blue baker's twine complete the look. Hope you like it. I'm pretty sure my granddaughter, Joy will like it. :-)

Four Leaf Clover Friends

Today's card features our new 4 Leaf Clover Friends greeting and the Infinity Shamrock.

 

The greeting was stamped on white CS with black ink, die cut and layered on a green scalloped circle. The infinity Shamrock was stamped with VersaColor Fresh Green ink over top the greeting after stamping off once. The background was created by stamping the Shamrock background stamp with the same green ink on white CS. I used a nestie to cut the panel in two and then used a matching die to cut out the green so some of the base would show through. Baker's twine and sequins complete the look.

Office Supplies?

Today's challenge at DRS Designs is Office Supplies. You have to use something you'd find in an office on your card. Staples, postage stamps, paper clips, etc.  Here's what I came up with.

As you can see I went with a postage stamp. This was made with the very first die and embossing set I purchased. Actually I think it came with my Cuttlebug machine. I used to use it all the time, but haven't for a while and decided the love stamp would be great for this week's challenge. I embossed the white panel with a Darice hearts folder, added the strip of glitter tape that spells out love. The banner and hearts were made with red glitter paper. The sentiment was stamped with Real Red ink on white CS, die cut and then the faux stitching was added with a Memento Black ink pen. The love postage stamp was added last with foam dots for dimension.

Shamrockin Day!

DRS Designs has released some new stamps that are just so much fun! I've been stamping and playing with the new stamps as much as possible. It's addicting! Be sure to check out the new stamps on line: HERE!

This card features our new Shamrockin Greeting. I stamped it with Old Olive ink, die cut and layered it on an Old Olive scalloped oval. I created my own St. Patrick's Day DP by stamping the four leaf clover and the silhouette clover in Old Olive ink randomly on white CS. The vertical strips were embossed and die cut with a Spellbinders set I found marked down to $2! Gotta love those good buys! Some green rhinestones complete the look. Hope you like it.

This week's challenge at DRS Designs is "White Out." You have to create a mostly white card. You can see details here. The prize is some fabulous stamps. Hope you can find some time to play along!

White Out!!

This week's challenge at DRS Designs is to make a mostly all white card. You can use one color for inking or layering, but not coloring. I really like white on white cards, so I went with a totally white card, well except for the black ink to stamp the greeting. With all the snow we've gotten this week, a totally white card is appropriate!!

This was definitely an easy card to create. I stamped the Happy Valentine Greeting in black ink on white CS, die cut with a nestie and layered it on another nestie. The white panel was embossed with a heart folder, some white lace and pearls were added before attaching it to the white base. The heart circles were attached with foam dots for a bit of dimension. Hope you like it.
