See Ya Later Alligator!

I have a niece named Allie, whose nickname is "Allie"gator. When I saw this new background image I knew I had to make a birthday card for Allie with it. There are so many different sayings on this image, the possibilities are endless!

I stamped the green panel with the new image (158H) using SU Old Olive ink and then die cut the oval window out, attached it to the cream card base and stamped the Happy Birthday greeting inside the oval with the same ink. The frame was made using  stitched oval dies. The gator was created using the Animal Kingdom cartridge and my Cricut machine. I rarely use my Cricut and it took me a few tries to get the gator sized correctly. I added some shading to him with the old olive ink and popped him up with some foam squares. A couple of tiny black half pearls were added for his eyes. I think my niece will like this.

Just a reminder there's only a couple more days to get in on the chance to win big here at DRS Designs. Be sure to check out the details here.

Picture Perfect Day!

Hi everyone. I'm super excited! Today I get to share one of the soon be released images here at DRS Designs. Isn't this little Sandy Mermaid adorable?! (182F)  I think she might just be my favorite of all the new releases.

I started by stamping her on white CS with Memento Black ink, colored her with Copics and then masked her off so I could sponge in the sea with some distress inks and then the sky with SU Bashful Blue. I used a die cut cloud as a mask too. Some sparkle was added to her tail with Wink of Stella and some waves were added with a white pen.

Nesties were used to die cut the frame and the greeting was stamped with Versafine Onyx ink. Some matching blue sequins were added. The blue panel was embossed with s SB waves folder and then everything was attached to the white card base.

Be sure to check back regularly to see all the new images coming soon. I know you're gonna love them. Don't forget the awesome giveaway. You can see details here.

Thanks for stopping by today and happy stamping!

TMS #403

Finally found some time to play along with this week's sketch at TMS.
Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

The stamp is from All the Fixings by Taylored Expressions. All the tools were created with the matching dies. I think these tools look so real. I used some shiny silver CS to create the tools and then die cut them from brown and red CS to create the handles which I just glued on. I used some of the little nuts for the embellishment in the corner. In side this says Happy Father's Day. I made this for my son who is quite the handy man and carpenter. I think he'll like this!

Challenges

I created this card for two challenges: Cupcake Inspirations and the Technique Lovers Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.  For Splitcoast the challenge was Washi Watercolor. You mask off parts of your card with Washi tape and water color in between. Here's the cupcake for the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge.

Here's my card:

My background was created with Washi Tape and TH Abandoned Coral Distress ink. The sentiment was stamped with Versafine Onyx ink, die cut and layered on a pink die cut lacy square. The flower was also created using SB dies. Some Old Olive ink was sponged onto the leaves for dimensions.

Congrats Grad!

Hi Everyone! Trust you had a great weekend. I decided I'd better get started on some graduation cards. It's just about that time. In fact we have two grad parties this coming weekend. My card today uses the school colors for the graduate and this week's sketch at Split Coast Stampers. When I first saw the sketch I immediately thought of graduation.

I started with a white card base, added the black panel after dry embossing it with a Darice grad folder and then added the die cut stars, which I sponged some distress ink around the edges for some dimension. The greeting is part of the larger grad greeting. It was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink, die cut and added to the panel after attaching the yellow banners. The tiny grad cap is part of the grad background image. I stamped, colored it and fussy cut. It's attached with some foam adhesive. I like the look of this and I think it's perfect for the male graduate.

Be sure to check out this month's giveaway at DRS Designs. It's a really good deal! You can find details here.

Sympathy

Hi Everyone,

I've been playing around with some Tim Holtz Distress inks creating backgrounds with different colors. My cards today have backgrounds created with Distress inks and acetate. You can get some really pretty backgrounds with this technique.

Once the backgrounds dried I stamped the new Praying for Friends greeting with Versafine Black Onyx ink in the corner. The butterfly was stamped with the same black ink. I added some Nuvo clear Crystal drops to the butterfly body. It doesn't show up in the photo, but does in real life. Some gold rhinestones were added to the corners to complete the look.

The second card  features the new Sincere Thanks greeting which was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink. The Silhouette branch was also stamped with the same black ink. Black half pearls were added to the corner.

Comfort

Hi Everyone,

I have another sympathy card to share with you today featuring the new condolences greeting. I started by stamping the silhouette branch image with SU Certainly Celery ink and then die cutting to create the frame. The greeting was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink onto white CS and layered onto the black panel and then the white card base. To create the butterflies I stamped some of the polka dot background image with Versafine Black Onyx ink on some of the same green CS and then die cut the butterflies with a Memory Box die. I cut their bodies out of black CS to help them stand out a bit and attached them for foam dots.

Be sure to check out DRS Designs on line. We are having the Great Cling Stamp Give Away. Everyone who orders $20.00 or more on line will be entered in the contest to win the prize - over 75 cling mounted images. Now that's a great prize! You can see the details here.
