Easter Bunny Wannabe

Today I have some Easter cards to share with you that features the recently released Easter Ears Leonard Pig image, I couldn't resist creating some Easter cards with this fun image. Isn't he the cutest. Leonard is one of my favorite images from DRS Designs.

For my first card, I started by sponging on blue and pink DO ink using a stencil. While that dried, I stamped Leonard, colored him with Copics, die cut and sponged a little pink around the edge of the oval. The Happy Easter greeting was stamped with the same pink DO ink, die cut and also sponged along the edges. Some pink ric rac was added to the stenciled panel before attaching it to the card base. Leonard is popped up on foam dots.

On this card, Leonard was stamped, colored and fussy cut. I also stamped him a couple more times, colored the egg only and fussy cut them. The background was created by sponging in the sky and ground. The greeting was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink. The fence was die cut and added to the panel after the tall leaves were added. The leaves are a Concord and 9th die, the fence is Memory box. Leonard was added with foam tape and the two eggs were glued on.

I really like how these two cards came out. Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure to check out Leonard and all the other new images from DRS Designs here.

Extra Tweet!

Happy Monday everyone. Hope your weekend was great! I've been sick for the last couple of weeks with a severe sinus infection. I'm just starting to feel normal again for which I am grateful. It feels so good to be able to get into the craft room and create some cards. I did have lots of time to peruse the internet for new ideas and my card today is a result of a video I saw by Jennifer McGuire. This is a pop up shadow box card. Super easy to create and lots of fun. You can see her video here.

I started with two pieces of light blue heavy weight CS (6 1/4 by 5 1/2), scored both ends at half an inch and one inch. Die cut the circle and added a piece of black CS with a smaller die cut circle. This adds some stability to the card front. I stamped the Silly Bird image onto watercolor paper, colored him with some Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens, fussy cut and added him and the greeting to the blue CS before adding the black support panel. I stamped the open leaf branch a few times onto white CS, colored the leaves with Copics and added it to the back panel. The 3 in 1 feathers were stamped onto watercolor paper and colored with the same Nuvo pens, fussy cut and glued onto the front.

What I like about this shadow box card is it does fold flat for mailing. When you take it out of the envelop it pops up and can stand on its own. I think I'm going to do some Pop Up Shadow box cards for my grandkids for Easter this year. I have just the bunny image in mind too - Big Bunny Face. It's my favorite bunny image and will look awesome peeking through a pop up card!!

Thanks for stopping by today. Have fun creating!

Spring is Coming!

Happy Monday. Hope you had a great weekend and found some time to get inky!  My card today uses the new Puff Circle image. I'm liking this new image a lot.

I stamped the Puff Circle (869D) with Tattered Rose Distress ink onto some peach colored CS. The Dandelion image was stamped with Archival ink onto some speckled white CS, then I used Tattered Rose and Bundled Sage Distress inks to color the image. Part of the Spring is coming greeting was stamped next to the Dandelion. I used SB rectangle dies to cut the panel and create the frame.

On the inside I stamped the Puff Circle(869D) along the bottom with Tattered Rose Distress ink. The panel that was cut out of the peach CS to create the frame was added to the inside and the rest of the greeting was stamped onto it with Archival Black ink.

Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to check out this new Puff Circle and all the other new images at DRS Designs on line store.

Tweeties

Happy Monday! I have a fun card today that features three of the newest images:
Silly Bird (870D)
Thinking of you Tweetie (888D)
Feathers 3 in 1 (884F)

I started by stamping my Silly Bird image with Archival black ink onto a 4 inch square of white CS. Next I used the Gina K Wreath Builder template to stamp the smallest of the 3 feathers with the same black ink creating the circle of feathers around my bird. After coloring the images with Copics the white square was layered onto some blue CS. The white panel was stamped with the greeting and then embossed with a TH feathers EF and layered onto the same blue CS. Everything was attached to a white card base.

I like the way this turned out. The new silly bird image is so fun to play with and color. Be sure to check out these new images as well as the others at the on line store here.

Thanks for stopping by today.
