The Heart of Christmas

Happy Monday! I thought I'd share another Christmas card this week. Pretty soon it will be time to start on Halloween and Thanksgiving cards.

I started by stamping the Baby Jesus Heart (494G) on white CS, colored it with Copics and then fussy cut. The Find Peace, Hope, Love Christmas Greeting was stamped on white CS, die cut with Nesties. Some blue and white lace was added before attaching this panel to the blue die cut piece. Everything was  attached to the white card base. Pop dots hold the Baby Jesus Heart in place and a silver heart button was added to the corner to help balance things out.

The North Pole

In keeping with the Christmas in August theme, here's another Christmas card. I wanted to create a North Pole scene so that the new North Pole stamp could be featured. So I started by stamping the Add a fence stamp twice in Memento Black ink. Next I stamped the feeding reindeer, masking as I went to give some depth. Once they were colored with Copics, I masked them again and stamped the snow lines. Some Stickles were added to the snow lines and bags of feed for sparkle. The North Pole was stamped twice, colored with Copics and fussy cut. I used the bottom of the pole from one image and added the other image on top to make the pole taller. Nesties were used to cut the panels and the red frame. Before attaching everything to the white card base, some baker's twine was added.

Christmas

Christmas cards are my favorite cards to make and DRS Designs has some new Christmas images which makes it even more enjoyable! My card today features two new stamps: Jesus is the Heart of Christmas greeting (496F) and Baby Jesus Heart (494G).

I started by stamping the Baby Jesus Heart with Memento Black ink on white CS, colored it with Copics and fussy cut it. I added some shimmer with a Sakura Star Dust pen. The sentiment was stamped with black ink on white CS and cut with a heart die. The Silent Night music was stamped on navy CS with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white EP. I cut it into three panels and attached them to the white layer that was embossed with a snowflake folder and spritzed with some shimmer mist. After adding the hearts, some ribbon and a silver heart button were added to complete the look.

Be sure to check out the new images here.

Silent Night

Happy 1st Monday of August. I cannot believe how quickly the summer has flown by! Pretty soon school will start back up, fall will be here and then Christmas. Which means it's time to get started on those Christmas cards and avoid the rush and stress of last minute creating! With that in mind...

This was really a rather quick and simple card to create. I started by making a mask for the ground area and then sponged on three shades of blue ink to create the night sky. Once the inks dried, I stamped the Silent Night greeting in VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with detailed white EP. The small Nativity Scene was stamped with Memento Black ink on white CS, colored with Copics and die cut with nesties. I layered it and the main panel on green CS, added the sheer navy ribbon and attached everything to the white card base. I hope this and the other Christmas cards you've seen here on the blog is inspiring you to start creating those Christmas cards!

Be sure to check out this week's challenge to "Cause a Scene." We'd love to have you play along.
