friends

My cards today are all about friends. I really like the new Coffee cup image and the Coffee and Friends Greeting. I have so many friends who would love this.

I went with a pink theme on this card, thinking of Valentine's Day and added a couple of die cut hearts to the coffee bands. The cups were stamped, colored with Copics, fussy cut and attached to the white panel after embossing with a hearts folder and attaching the pink heart with the greeting. Everything is attached to the pink card base.

The inside is blank, but a Valentine greeting could be stamped inside if you wanted.

My second card features the new Flakey friends greeting. I paired it with this trio of die cut snowmen. I added some pink ink to their cheeks while still in the die to give them a rosy look. Unfortunately it doesn't show up too well in the photo.

The greeting was stamped with VersaMark ink, heat embossed with white EP and then the blue panel was embossed with a snowflake folder. The snowflakes were made with IO dies and glued onto the panel. Everything is attached to the white card base.

On the inside I stamped the Snow better friend greeting and added some snowflakes with teal ink to match the front of the card.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are having fun creating. If you are looking for inspiration, be sure to check out DRS on line here. You'll find some fabulous stamps and a gallery of inspiration.

love bug

Don't you just love this little love bug image? I sure do! For this Valentine, I started with heavy weight white CS and stamped the greeting with Versafine Black Onyx ink in one corner and the Love bug with Memento black ink in the other corner. The love bug was colored with Copics and I used a red gel pen to color in his nose and the hearts on his antenna. You can't really see it in the photo.

Next I stamped the tiny lady bug from our 4 in 1 Garden Bugs stamp with Versafine Black Onyx ink onto a piece of red CS and die cut the word "love" from the red CS. I then used the same die to cut the work love from the white CS being sure to keep all the little pieces of paper from the insides of the letters. I used TH Matte Medium to glue the word love into place as well as the white parts.

Everything is attached to the black panel and then to the white card base.

TMS Challenge

My card today is for this week's sketch challenge at TMS. It's an easy and fun sketch. Here it is:

And here's my card:

I used hearts for the center panel and the sentiment and arrow for the banners. The greeting is new from DRS Designs and goes perfectly with their new ladybug. But I wanted to use a VW Beetle for this Valentine for my cousin. She got a VW Bug last year and I know she'll like this card. The car is from the $ bin at Michaels and has been in my stash forever. The hearts were die cut with SB dies. The arrow is from SB Small Die of the Month for this month. The white panel was embossed with a Darice EF. I did add some clear Wink of Stella to the car to give it some shimmer and shine.

Thanks for the fun sketch and for stopping by today.

Cupcake Inspiration Challeng

Today I have a birthday card inspired by the winter theme challenge at Cupcake Inspirations this week. Here's the yummy cupcake:

And here's the card I created.

I started by stamping the snowflake background image with VersaMark ink onto a piece of water color paper, heat embossed with white EP and then sponged on some TH Distress Oxide inks for my sky. While that dried I die cut the snow banks using some Fawn Lawn Stitched Hills dies. The tress were made with a Memory Box die and the snowman is from a La-La Land Crafts die. Once those pieces were die cut and glued together I put all the pieces onto the card front. Part of the greeting was stamped onto white CS, die cut and attached to the top left corner. The rest of the greeting was stamped on the bottom snow bank with Archival Jet Black ink. I added some white highlights to the snowman's eyes with a white gel pen.

With all the snow and cold weather we've been having I thought this would be perfect for a dear friend who has a birthday coming up soon.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Baby It's Cold!

We have had such a run of bitterly cold weather. No one wants to go outside. It's just too cold, though it is suppose to warm up to 33* today. After single digits and wind chills in the minus double digits, 33* will definitely feel warm!!

With all this cold, I've been creating winter theme cards, even though I know I should get to work on those Valentines!!  Here's my card for today:

I started with some water color paper, stamped the greeting with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with clear EP. After that cooled I sponged on several TH Distress Oxides ink to create the winter sky. I splashed on some water to give it the look of falling snow. While that panel dried I worked on the coffee cups. I stamped the paper cups and lids onto white CS, added some shading with light gray Copics and fussy cut. I stamped the cups again onto kraft CS, used a brown Copic and the Colorless Blender pen, fussy cut and glued onto the cup to give the sleeve some more dimension. The snowflakes were die cut with an Impression Obsession die. A blue half pearl was added to the centers. Once the cups were glued onto the blue panel everything was attached to a white card base.

I hope you are staying warm. Just looking at this card makes me want to grab another cup of coffee!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Valentine's Day

I have an elegant and quick Valentine card to share with you today. The new Valentine Scroll Oval is an elegant and easy to use greeting. I stamped it with Versafine Black Onyx ink onto white CS, heat embossed it with clear EP, die cut it with a SB oval die and then used red glitter Nuvo Drops on the heart images on it. While the Nuvo drops dried, I die cut the red glitter layer using a SB die from one of their monthly kits. It was attached to a black panel and then to the white card base. The oval is attached with foam adhesive for some dimension. The bow was created using my Bow Easy and that completes the card. Hope you like it.

You can check out this greeting and all of the other new images and greetings here.

Baby, It's Cold...

Happy New Year Everyone. I don't know about you, but we are having such cold weather. We're breaking record temperatures and no one wants to go outside. My husband and I are flipping a coin to see who has to walk the dog in the mornings!!  So in honor of the bitter cold I have a snowy card to share with you today.

I started by die cutting the stitched collage frame from MFT out of white CS. Next I used the frame to mark off the collage sections onto a piece of water color paper and stamped the simply snowman image and the new greeting into the larger sections. After coloring the snowman with Copics, I stamped the interlocking snowflake background with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with clear EP. I covered the snowman with a mask and then sponged on some TH Distress Oxide inks for the sky. Once the inks dried, I attached the stitched collage frame to the water color paper and then attached everything to a white card base.

Hope you are staying warm!!  Right now there's no better place for me to be than in my craft room. It's upstairs and we all know heat rises. :-)

Thanks for stopping by today!
