Happy Easter Monday!

Does anyone still refer to today as Easter Monday? I remember always having today off from school when I was a kid. Maybe I'm showing my age here!! Anyway, I still think of today as a special day to remember Easter and rejoice that Christ is Risen. So my card today celebrates that fact.

I started with the white CS, stamped the Christ is Risen Cross with Memento Black ink, colored it with Copics and die cut. It is layered on two more die cuts in yellow and green. Everything is attached to the yellow card base which was embossed with CB damask folder. The small Open Bible was stamped, colored with Copics, fussy cut and then attached with a foam dot for dimension. The word "Rejoice" was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink.

I hope you have had a good Easter weekend and found time to rejoice!!

Merry Monday Challenge 197

This week's challenge at Merry Monday is to have a church on your Christmas Card.

I used DRS Designs Christmas Village Church and this week's sketch at Split Coast Stampers to create my card.

I started by stamping the Village Church with Memento Black ink on white CS. Next I masked the church and stamped the tree from the Christmas Village 4 in 1 Accessories stamp around the church. Once the images were colored with Copics, I sponged some Bashful Blue ink in for the sky, stamped the Christmas Blessings greeting with Versafine Black Onyx ink and then added some stickles for the snow.  DCWV dps were used for the bottom panels. Some ribbon completes the look.

"B" Challenged

This week's challenge at DRS Designs is B Words. You must have something on your card that begins with the letter B. I chose bees for my B word.

I started with white CS, sponged on TH Scattered Straw ink using a honeycomb stencil. While that dried I stamped the greeting with VersaFine Black ink, die cut and layered it on black CS. The small honeycomb image was stamped with More Mustard ink over the greeting. I stamped the greeting once more with Memento Black ink along with the Bitsy Bee and Happy Bee images, colored them with Copics and fussy cut them. I added white Wink of Stella to their wings for shimmer. Spellbinder dies were used to create the black frame and everything is on a white card base. The tiny bee is glued on the greeting, but the other two have foam adhesive to give some dimension. This was a fun card to create.

Hope you can join us for this week's challenge. You could be the randomly selected winner of some awesome DRS Designs stamps!

Welcome Spring !

Aren't you glad it's Spring?! I am. I am so ready for some warmer weather, sunshine and outdoor activities! So in honor of Spring, I have a card to share today that celebrates this season.

I started by stamping the Birdhouse Tree Branch, Lovebirds Tree Branch and Leafy Tree Branch images with Memento Black ink on white CS, colored them with Copics and then sponged Bashful Blue ink on for the sky. The Spring is Coming sentiment was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink on white CS, die cut and layered on green CS. Some Bashful Blue ink was sponged on to match the background better. The little bird charm has been in my stash forever and I thought it'd look cute with this greeting. The green frame was die cut and the edges were embossed with some lines for interest.

This card could also work for this week's color challenge. You still have time to join in the fun. You could be the winner of some fabulous new stamps. We'd love to see what you create. Details can be seen here.

And here's my card:

I started by stamping and coloring the butterfly, then die cutting it. The new sentiment (731G) was stamped on white CS, die cut and then sponged along the edges with Barely Banana ink. Everything is layered on yellow, green and blue CS, which was embossed with a Darice butterfly EF. Some yellow ribbon and punched butterflies complete the look.

We'd love to have you join in the fun. You can see details here.

Faith

Hi Everyone! DRS Designs is about to release some new stamps and if you've been following the blog you may have noticed some sneak peaks! One of the new images is the Open Bible (745C). I stamped it in Memento Black ink, added some color with Copics and a silver gel pen, then stamped just the word Faith from the Faith Greeting. I fussy cut the Bible out and attached it with foam adhesive for dimension. The Praying Girl Silhouette was stamp with Versafine Black Onyx ink, die cut and layered on black and pink ovals. The white panel was embossed with the CB Swirls folder and the pink strips were created with a MS punch. Some white half pearls complete the look.

This week's challenge here at DRS Designs is Cut it out! You can use any image, die, etc., you just have to have something on your card that you fussy cut. So with the fussy cut Bible image, this card works great for the challenge. We'd love to have you play along. You can see details here.

Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge

DRS Designs is proud to be the sponsor this week for the Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge. I don't know about you, but I really like sketch challenges. Here's this week's sketch:

And here is my card.

I apologize for the photo being rather washed out. I'm not sure why and my hubby isn't here to fix it for me. Maybe the sun shining in the window washed it out some. We haven't seen the sun for a while!!

I used DRS Designs new Happy Easter image and the silhouette branch background. The greenery was die cut and I used an embossing folder I purchased on sale, but didn't keep the info on who made it. It reminds me of chain links (like in a fence), which I thought went with this image, since Christ's death and resurrection can break our chains and set us free! I love Easter!!

Hope you can join in the fun challenge. You can see details here.

Birthday Greetings

Good morning Everyone! Hope you had a great weekend and found some time to get creative in your craft room. This week DRS Designs is proud to be sponsoring the Cupcake Inspiration Challenge. It's a color challenge. Here's the cupcake photo.

I don't know about you, but whenever I see these inspiration photos from the Cupcake Challenges, I want to go to our local Cake in a Cup Shop and purchase some of their delicious cupcakes!! I shall try to resist!

Anyway, here is my card.

I started with white CS, stamped the medium daisies with VersaMark ink, embossed them with white EP and then sponged TH Scattered Straw ink all over the CS. Next I used a small paint brush and water to remove the Scattered Straw ink from inside the petals and added  Spun Sugar ink to the petals. I didn't have the right shade of green distress ink for the centers of the flowers so I used some dew drops. The greeting was stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink, die cut and layered on a green banner.

I hope you can join in the fun challenges at DRS Designs and CupCake Inspirations this week. You have 2 ways to try and win some great new stamps!
