challenges

Today I have a couple of  challenge cards to share with you. The first is for DRS Designs: Autumn Wonders.

I started by stamping the leaf pile with Memento Black ink onto the white CS and colored with Copics. Next I die cut the tree. cut around the top of the leaf pile, slid the tree into the slit and then glued the tree into place. The greeting was stamped before embossing with a SB leafy folder. You can see details for this challenge here.

My second card is for Our Daily Bread's challenge:  Dots and Dashes.

I used ODBD new Beverage Cup dies and the I love Coffee stamp set along with their stitched Oval dies. I created the coffee cup using the same dp for the cup as the background. The greeting was stamped with Vesafine Onyx ink, die cut and glued onto the card base. I added the ribbons and a rhinestone to the flower on the coffee cup to complete the look. This is for a very special friend who enjoys her coffee as much as I do. I think we'll be meeting for coffee on her birthday!

TMS Challenge

Hi! Today I have a quick birthday card to share with you that I created using this week's sketch challenge at TMS.  Here's the sketch.

And here's my card.

I let the dp do the work for this card. I started with a white card base, added the green layer and then the birthday candle dp from the Paper Studio. Next I stamped the birthday greeting from DRS Designs, layered it on the same green CS and attached it to the card. Last I added the ribbon. A quick and easy birthday card that has to go out with today's mail!!

Thanks for the great sketch, TMS!

Trick or Treat

In keeping with this week's challenge here at DRS Designs, I have a trick or treat card for you today. I used Count Porkula, my all time favorite Halloween image. Isn't he just the cutest thing?!

First I stamped Count Porkula with Memento Black ink on white CS, using the Misti so I could stamp again after coloring with Copics to get a crisp image. Once that was done I die cut him and layered him on purple CS. The candy corn border was stamped with Memento Black ink, colored with Copics, trimmed down and layered on orange and purple CS. The banner was created by using just part of the Smell my feet greeting, die cutting and sponging on some Pumpkin Pie ink. The orange panel was embossed with a CB folder.

Hope you can join in the fun this week. I'd love to see your favorite Trick or Treat image! You can see details on the challenge here.

My card today is for two challenges this week: DRS Designs: Trick or Treat and C.R.A.F.T Challenge:  Autumn, Halloween, Thanksgiving.  DRS Designs is one of the sponsors at the C.R.A.F.T. Challenge this week.

I started by stamping the Zombie Gal with Memento black ink onto white CS, colored her with Copics, die cut and layered her onto a scalloped oval. The orange panel was stamped with the Accent Bats in Versafine Black Onyx ink. The strip was created using a Fiskars border die. The trick or treat bag is a MS punch. Some milky white half pearls complete the look.

Hope you have time to join in the fun!!

sympathy

My card today was created for a friend who had to put her beloved dog down this week. We have a dog and I can only imagine how difficult this must be for her.

I began by creating the background layer, stamping the dog paw and bone with Memento Cocoa ink on cream CS. To create a divide between them I added the strip of brown CS with a ribbon. The puppy was stamped with Memento Cocoa ink, colored with Copics, die cut with a stitched oval from ODBD and layered on a brown oval also die cut from ODBD stitched oval dies. The sentiment was stamped the same way, die cut, some cocoa ink sponged on the edges. A dog paw button completes the look. I'm pretty sure my friend will like. I hope it cheers her up a bit too.

I'm entering this in this week's Addicted to CAS challenge: Stitch.

Family Portrait??

Happy Monday Everyone. A few weeks ago I was at a friend's house making cards. She had a ton of dies that belong to her sister in law and I die cut quite a few things, including this ornate frame. I don't know about you, but it reminds me of the types of frames that would be on old family portraits in mansions in old Vincent Price and Alfred Hitchcock movies. So I had to use it as a frame for a family portrait of the new zombies here at DRS Designs.

I started by stamping and masking the zombie crawler, then stamped and masked the guy zombie and last I stamped the zombie girl.  They were all colored with Copics.  I cut the "portrait" down to size and glued it into the black frame. The orange panel was embossed with a CB EF. I added the black strip for some variation. The half pearls were peach colored, so I used a Copic marker to color them orange. The Jack O lantern was created using an old paper punch. Not even sure who made it!

Here's a look at the inside.

Since there was no room on the front, I put the greeting on the inside and added some accent bats. This card goes with this week's color challenge at DRS Designs. You can see details here. We'd love to have you join in the fun.

Challenges!

Today I have some cards to share that I created for specific challenges.  This week's challenge at DRS Designs is a color challenge. Here's the pallet of colors. Aren't they great for Halloween or Fall!

And here's my card.

I started by stamping the haunted house image with Versafine Black ink, embossed with clear EP and die cut with an oval. Next I used some gelatos to color in the moon, sky and house windows, then I used the same ovals to create the two pumpkin parts as well as the frame for the middle part. The vine is from Memory box, cut into pieces to fit where I wanted. The greeting was stamped with Versafine Black ink, die cut and sponged with SU Pumpkin Pie ink. Some CB folders were used to emboss the pumpkin and background. I like stamping the image inside the pumpkin. Hope you have time to join the fun at DRS Designs this week. You can see details here.

My next card is for two challenges:  Sketch Saturday and Addicted to CAS.
Addicted to CAS is a Harvest theme. I hope fall leaves fits for harvest. Whenever I think harvest I think pumpkins, apples and leaves changing color. Here's the sketch for Sketch Saturday.

Here's my card.

I started with the cream card base, stamped the silhouette leaves with Hero Arts Ombre ink. Stamped the greeting with Versafine Black ink, added the two layers and some rhinestones to complete the look. I really like the way this turned out.

My final card is another CAS card for this week's CAS on Sunday. The theme is Pastels.

I started with the pastel blue card base, punched the corners, added a white layer with punched corners, stamped the vertical greeting and then glued on the die cut butterflies along with their little bodies. I am not sure who makes this die. I die cut several of these at a friend's house and did not write down the name. I love the look of these cascading butterflies.

I've been out of the country, visiting my daughter and family for 3 weeks. It is great to be back to stamping!! Though I do miss my daughter and grandson. So thankful I could be there for his first birthday!! YEAH!!

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge

This week the challenge at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge is an easel card. I created this easel card using DRS Designs' newest zombie images.

I started by stamping the 2 zombies, masking the crawling zombie and then stamping the guy zombie behind. Once they were colored with Copics, I stamped the zombie sign, colored it and then used copics to color in the background. Next I layered the panel onto green and then black CS. The large green panel was stamped with the accent bats using Versafine Black Onyx ink. Everything was then added to the black card base.

Here's a closer look at the front of the card.

For the inside I stamped the zombie greeting onto white CS and layered it onto the same green and black CS. The zombie hand was stamped, colored and fussy cut, then attached with some foam dots.

I think these new zombie images are great for Halloween cards. You can color them to be funny/cute or scary - whatever you desire.

Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge 368

DRS Designs is sponsoring this week's challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. Here's the sketch:

And here's my card.

I started by stamping the maple leaves with a Hero Arts Ombre Orange ink pad. Once they were fussy cut, I stamped the greeting with Memento Cocoa ink, stamped the leaf outline with the same Ombre ink, die cut and added the orange die cut layer. Everything is attached to the orange panel that was embossed with a leafy EF from Spellbinders. The brown strips were also embossed with the same folder.

Happy 50th!!

My card today is for a friend who's birthday is October 31. When I saw DRS Designs new Grim Reaper image (963G), I knew I had to use it to make a birthday card for my friend.

I started by stamping the grim reaper image (963G) onto white CS with Versafine Black Onyx ink, using the MISTI to ensure a clear image. Next I stamped part of the Birthday Multi Greeting along with the 50th from the 50th Anniversary stamp. This panel and the orange panel were die cut with nesties. A black and orange ribbon was added before attaching everything to the black card base. A corner punch was used to round the corners of the card base.

On the inside some single candles were stamped with pumpkin pie ink and the new Remember the Ghoul Times greeting (969D) was stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink.
