Merry Monday Challenge

The challenge at Merry Monday this week is to use red, white and green on your Christmas card. I used today's sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers to create this card. I like today's sketch because it was quick and easy - perfect for the day before Thanksgiving!! :-)

I embossed the green layer with a Paper Studio embossing folder and layered it on red CS before attaching it to the white card base. The Pointsettia was die cut with nesties from the same red CS. White half pearls were added to the center. The sentiment was stamped in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with detail white embossing powder. A border was punched on the red strip to finish it off.

Very quick and easy!!

Walking the Dog!

Today's card features some more images from the recently released Christmas Village series. These stamps are just so much fun to play with. If you've been visiting the blog recently, then you have seen all sorts of combinations. To create this card I started by stamping the trees label (minus the label part) in Old Olive ink, several times without re-inking to give the illusion of many trees in the background. Next I added the snow lines and then the bare trees and some little pine trees. The sloped roof cottage was stamped in Memento Black ink, colored with Copics and fussy cut. Some stickles were added to the snow on the roof as well as the snow lines. Last I stamped the mail box and the man walking his pup. We have a pup and she absolutely loves walking in the snow. This image makes me think of her and all the fun walks we had last winter!!

I used nesties to cut the frame out of the center of the white card base and used my scoring tool to create some extra lines around the frame. Some punched holly leaves, red half pearls and a sheer red bow complete the look.  Hope you like it. I had fun creating this.

Nativity Easel Card

Trust you all had a great weekend and were able to find some time to get creative. It's time to get serious about getting those Christmas cards made!! Today I have an easel card to share with you.

The nativity was stamped with Memento Black ink, colored with Copics, and fussy cut. The background was created with the CB swirls folder, it kind of makes me think of dirt and sand swirling around the manger. The top half was sponged with Barely Banana ink using a TH stencil. Oh come let us adore Him was stamped in black ink. I added a yellow star and rhinestone to the top of the stable. The new sentiment was stamped on So Saffron CS and layered on brown CS that was punched with a star border. Some sheer yellow ribbon completes the look. Hope you like it.

Hang It Up

"Hang it up" is the challenge at DRS Designs this week. You need to have something on your card that is hung, think lights, ornaments, wreaths, etc. I went with ornaments.

First I stamped DRS Designs' Christmas Village Tree Store in Memento Black ink on white CS, colored it with Copics, die cut it with the Spellbinders Ornament die, then cut it down in size so it would fit on the red ornament that I also die cut. I added the green glitter tape and some stickles for snow. The white layer was embossed with a Christmas tree folder. A snowflake and some sheer red ribbon complete the look.

Christmas Village

DRS Designs has just released some new Christmas Village stamps that can be used alone or with the Christmas Village stamps released a couple of months ago. They are so fun to play with. The combinations are limitless. Today's card uses the new CV cabin, 4 in 1 Accessories 2 as well as some stamps from the previous release.

The village pond and bridge was stamped first, then the new village cabin, along with the snow lines. After coloring every thing with Copics, I added the bare trees from the new accessories set and the pine trees from the old accessories set. Some stickles were added all over for the snow and I covered the pond with Glossy Effects. The two little skaters were stamped, colored and fussy cut. The sentiment was stamped and die cut. Some Bashful Blue ink was sponged on for the sky and sheer white ribbon finishes it off.

We'd love to have you join in this week's challenge to use only half or part of an image, die, etc. You can see details here.

Challenges

This week DRS Designs is the sponsor at Just Inspirational Challenges Blogspot. The challenge is "Wishes." This gives plenty of room for creativity! I created a Thanksgiving card for my son and daughter in law using this week's sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.

I started by covering a piece of water color CS with red, orange, green and yellow gelatos, then I blended them with a baby wipe While waiting for this to dry, I created the rest of my card. The pumpkin CS was dry embossed with a SB leaf folder, then layered on some brown CS. Opposite corners were punched on these panels as well as the cream card base. The leafy ribbon was attached at an angle to go with the sketch design. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink on cream CS and layered on brown after punching the corners. The leaves were stamped with the same Memento ink onto the gelato colored paper. After fussy cutting, they were attached with glue dots. I really like the look of the leaves. Gelatos work great for this.

DRS Designs' challenge this week is to use half. I used just half of an image.

I started by stamping the sentiment in Memento Black ink on So Saffron CS, then embossed it with the CB pumpkin folder. After layering this on a burnt orange CS, a ribbon was added. The image was stamped and colored with Copics. Some shimmer and sparkle were added with a Sakura Gelly roll pen. After cutting the image in half, I layered it on the same orange CS that was die cut with a nestie.

DRS is about to release some new Christmas Village stamps. You have two chances to win some new stamps from DRS. This challenge and DRS Designs' weekly challenge

Happy Monday!

Today I have a simple Thanksgiving card that features one of DRS Designs' new Thanksgiving greetings. I love the beauty of autumn with the colorful leaves falling so...

I started by stamping the silhouette leaf in Cranberry Crisp, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, More Mustard and Straw Mat. The Thanksgiving greeting was stamped with Old Olive ink and then the outline leaf was stamped in Cranberry Crisp after stamping off a couple of time. A die cut border, some green ribbon and a button and twine complete the look.

Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to check out this week's challenge. We'd love to have you play along!
