Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone!

I love everything about Christmas - the decorations, the joy, the lights, the time spent with family and friends, the presents, the food, the baking, the snow, but most importantly I love taking the time to reflect on the birth of Jesus and what it means to me personally and to the world. I hope you are having a wonderful time celebrating Jesus' birth today too.

My card today is a simple one that I mass produced for volunteers at our church.

I started with the cream panel, stamped the Silent Night, Holy Night greeting with Archival Black ink and then embossed the panel with a Darice snowflake folder for some texture. The nativity was die cut from black CS and glued onto the panel. Everything is attached to a black layer before adhering it to the cream card base. I used an Echo Park Holy Family nativity die.

Thanks for stopping by and have a blessed day.

Peace and Joy Snowflakes

Can you believe Christmas is only one week away?!! Today's card uses the embedded embossed technique. I die cut the snowflakes using IO dies and SU dies. The snowflakes were added to the blue panel with a dab of glue and then embossed with a Darice folder and then added to the white card base. The Deco Peace and Joy greeting was stamped with Archival ink onto white CS, die cut and added to the card front. The bow was die cut with a SB die three times and glued together for some dimension before adding it to the card. Some Nuvo clear drops were added to the center of the bow.

This card could easily be massed produced. It really doesn't take much time to die cut and add the snowflakes. I think I'll do this again and use stars in place of the snowflakes.

Thinking of You

My card today features part of the new Heartache at Christmas greeting. I paired it with the poinsettia image which was stamped onto white CS, colored with Copics and die cut with a MFT square die. I stamped the Poinsettia image once more and colored only parts of it, fussy cut and popped it up on the original image. The large pink panel was embossed with a Darice folder and layered onto green CS. The greeting was stamped with Archival Jet black ink onto the same green CS, die cut and added under the poinsettia. Some pink gem stones were added to the banner. I added some clear Wink of Stella to the poinsettia petals and some clear Nuvo drops were added to the flower center.

Winter Wonderland

This is for the Christmas Carol Challenge at Dies R Us. I used my newest Spellbinders Die of the Month Dies to create this tall snowman and stamped the sentiment on one of the snow banks.

Since my snowman is so tall, I went with a tall narrow card design. First I sponged some Distress Oxide inks onto water color paper to create the background. After sponging on the inks some water was sprinkled on to create the falling snow. While that dried, all the parts of the snowman were die cut as well as the snow banks. The snow banks were created using Fawn Lawn dies. The greeting, a line from the carol "Winter Wonderland" is from DRS Designs. Once the water color panel dried everything was attached and then placed on the green card base. I really like this tall snowman.

Peace and Joy

My Christmas card today features the new Deco Peace and Joy Greeting. I really like this greeting. It is sized perfectly. It was stamped with VersaMark ink onto the red panel and heat embossed with white EP. The top half of this panel was embossed with a CB Diamond Tree folder. I added the white ribbon to hide the crease line and then decided to add another below the greeting. The Christmas Pine Cone was stamped with Memento Black ink onto white CS, colored with watercolor pencils and die cut with a ODBD stitched oval die. Some clear Wink of Stella was added to the while portions of the pine cone. I rarely use colored pencils, but I do like the look of this. I think I should practice some more with the pencils and use them more often.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you are getting all those Christmas cards created!!

In the Meadow!

My card today is for the Winter Wonderland Challenge at Love to Scrap. DRS Designs is also sponsoring this challenge. For Winter Wonderland, I had to go with a snowman scene. Here's my card.

First I stamped the snowflake background image with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white EP and then sponged on distress oxide inks for the sky. I used a Fawn Lawn die to create my snow bank and stamped my greeting with Archival Jet Black ink. The snowman was die cut using a SB die of the month set. Isn't he the cutest?! I think I'll make a few more of these. I really like the way this turned out.

Hope you can find some time to play along with this challenge.
