Extra Tweet

Happy Monday everyone. Can you believe it's the last Monday of February?! Time seems to be flying by faster than usual! Or is that just me?

I have two very similar cards to share with you today. They both feature the new Extra Tweet Birthday greeting. Each card features one of the new sweet little bird images too. I heard birds singing for the first time this past week when I was walking the dog. It was such a pleasant sound. Spring must be getting close, right? I hope so.

Both cards have blue panels with a white panel embossed with the CB Birthday folder. The greetings were stamped with Versafine Black Onyx ink and die cut with a SB label die. The images were stamped with Archival Black ink onto to white CS, colored with colored pencils and some gamsol, die cut and layered onto the same blue CS. I used black Nuvo drops for the birds' eyes and the second card has some clear Wink of Stella added to the snowy portions.

Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to stop by the store and check out all the new images. I think you're going to love them.

shamrocks

I recently discovered a new challenge, well, new to me. It's the Cas(e) this Sketch Challenge. You have a sketch to use and your card is to be a CAS design. I like CAS cards and really like this week's sketch.  Here it is:

And here's my card:

I went with a truly CAS design. I stamped the Silhouette field of Shamrocks onto the center of my white card base using Memento Bamboo ink. The Happy St. Patrick's Day greeting was stamped onto white CS with Versafine Onyx ink, die cut with a SB label die and attached to the card base with foam adhesive.  Pretty quick and easy. I do like the look of this.

Thank you for the fun sketch challenge and for stopping by. I think I'll be trying out this challenge fairly regularly!

love bug hug

Happy Monday Everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. Unfortunately I managed to come down with the flu. Not the best way to spend the weekend. I am feeling better today and hope to back to normal tomorrow.

My Valentine card today goes along with the Love Challenge at Cupcake Inspirations which DRS Designs is proudly sponsoring these next two weeks. My card was quick and easy to create, which was good considering I wasn't feeling too well this weekend. Here's the inspiration photo:

I started by stamping the Love Bug Hugs greeting with Versafine Onyx ink onto red CS, embossing two rows of hearts with a SU folder and then attaching it to the white card base. The Love Bug was stamped with Memento Black ink onto white CS, colored with Copics and die cut with a heart die from Spellbinders. I used a larger heart die from the same set to cut out the black heart. The heart piece was added to the card front with a plastic spiral to give some dimension and bounce to it. I cannot remember what those little things are called.

Hope you can find some time to join in the challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. We'd love to see what you create, plus you could be the winner of a discount coupon to DRS Designs online store.

Thanks for stopping by.

TMS Challenge

There's a great sketch at Tuesday Morning Sketches this week. Well actually, there's always a great sketch at TMS. I guess I just really like this one. What do you think?

Isn't it a fun sketch?

Here's the card I created.

I've had this heart DP in my stash for years. I'm not really sure where it is from. I started with the white card base, added the dp with a layer of red CS and then the white panel at an angle with a layer of red CS as well. The leafy or vine heart was die cut using last month's small die of the month from Spellbinders. The greeting was stamped inside the heart with Versafine Onyx black ink. I added some Nuvo Clear Drops on the white panel around the heart.

I made this card for my parents, whose anniversary is Valentine's Day.

Thanks for stopping by today.
