Happy Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day here in the USA, a day we remember those who serve now and those who have fallen in service to our country. So my card today is in honor of those men and women.

I started by stamping a white panel with our easy grass background in Memento Bamboo Leaves ink, then I sponged some of the Bamboo ink and TH Antique Linen ink around the grassy area. I punched some clouds with my Fiskars cloud punch, attached them to the top of the card with removal tape, sponged Bashful Blue ink in for the sky and then removed the punched clouds. The fence was created with a Memory Box die and glued onto the panel. The red, white and blue buntings were purchased at Hobby Lobby. As soon as I saw them at the store, I knew I wanted to use them with this fence die. The sentiment was stamped with Memento Black ink on white CS and cut apart. The USA was colored with Copics, fussy cut and attached to the white panel with pop dots. The remainder of the sentiment was cut into a banner, sponged with Real Red ink, then layered on a blue banner. The white panel is attached to a blue layer and then the red card base.

His Mercies

Today's card is for this week's Shining Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs. It is a sketch challenge. I'm glad I had time to play along this week, since I really enjoy doing sketch challenges.
Here's the sketch.

ODBDSLC203 - Sketch

And here's my card.

The image and verse are both from ODBD's Glory stamp set. I love those morning glories!! Everything was stamped onto white CS with Memento Black ink, colored with Copics, edges punched with a Fiskars border punch and attached to the violet CS. Violet ribbon was added before attaching it to the white card base. Hope you like it. I totally cased the card Cheryl created for this challenge. I really like the CAS look of it. I used a different Bible verse and color for the flowers.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Birthday

This week DRS Designs is the proud sponsor at Just Inspirational Challenges. This week's theme is birthday. Here is the card I created.

I started by punching some red, blue, yellow and green CS with the EK Success Swiss Cheese border punch, saving the circles. Next I randomly glued the circles all over the white CS, then embossed it with the Herringbone CB folder for the embedded embossed technique. I tried just embossing the pieces onto the CS, but the littlest ones did not stick, so I started over and used glue. It was a bit time consuming, but not difficult. This panel was layered onto some red CS. After adding the baker's twine it was popped up onto the yellow CS with pop dots. The sentiment "Confetti Alert" was stamped onto white CS with Memento Black ink, colored with Copics, punched with a circle punch and layered on some red and yellow CS that was die cut with Nesties.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can join in the fun!

A Toast to You!

Hello Everyone,

Today's card features three of our newest wine stamps, A Toast to You, Pour Me, and Wine Improves with Age.

The card base is Bravo Burgundy with a nestie label die cut out of the center. I use a nestie die to create the lattice which was layered on white CS and attached on the back of the card front. The main image and sentiment were stamped on white CS with Memento Black ink, colored with copics and die cut. Some burgundy ink was sponged around the edges before attaching it to the lattice with pop dots. The Fanciful Flourish was die cut out of Old Olive CS, then cut apart and layered around the sentiments. "A Toast to You" was stamped with Memento Black ink on white CS, die cut and sponged with ink while still in the die.

Please check out this week's challenge to create a grad card or a card using your school colors. You can see details here. We'd love to have you play along.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Until next time,

Happy Birthday

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. My weekend was fairly busy, but I did find some time to get creative. I've been struggling lately with my mojo - it seems to have skipped town or something. My team mates at DRS Designs had some suggestions and they have helped. One suggestion was to try new techniques/backgrounds which is what I did for this card. The idea for this background came from Stamp TV. It's easy and I really like the look.

The two white panels were cut to size, taped together with removal adhesive, then stamped with the Bunch of Grapes image in Memento Black ink. While still taped together, I colored the images with my Copics, then layered the two panels on some black CS and attached them to the purple card base. The birthday sentiment was stamped with Memento Black ink on white CS, die cut and sponged with VersaColor lavender ink while still in the die. Some pale green rhinestones complete the look.

This week's challenge at DRS Designs is a color challenge - greens and purples. We'd love to have you join the fun. You can see details here. Thanks for stopping by today.

Until next time,

Mother's Day

Hi Everyone,

With Mother's Day right around the corner, I thought I'd share a card I created for the occasion.

The Chevron background was stamped with Taken with Teal ink on white CS and layered on teal CS. The vertical strip was embossed with a CB chevron folder. The sentiment is part of a Mother's Day Greeting stamp. I inked up the Happy Mother's Day portion of the stamp with a Memento Black pen, stamped it on white CS, die cut it with a banner die and layered it on the same teal CS. The flowers were stamped with Memento Black ink, colored with copics, die cut and layered on a scalloped oval. Some pale green rhinestones were added to the centers of the flowers.

This week's challenge is to "Put it on the Chalkboard," a fun technique using white ink on black CS. We'd love to have you play along. Instructions on the technique and details for the challenge can be seen here.

Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time,
