Christmas greetings

Hello Everyone. Trust you are staying home as much as possible and keeping safe! Wow, how things are changing so rapidly with this pandemic. Praying it ends soon! On the positive side of things, it does give more time to be in the craft room getting creative. I am enjoying that part of all this.

My card today is a Christmas card. Remembering Christmas always brings a smile to my face. So here goes:

This poinsettia image is one of my favorites, so I decided to use it. I stamped it with Versfine black ink onto a white die cut panel as well as twice more on some scraps of white CS. After heating embossing with clear EP, I colored the image with some Nuvo Aquaflow pens. I've had these pens for a couple of years now and have rarely used them. I'm not too skilled with water coloring, but decided I really needed to start using these pens. The embossed outline helps keep the watercolor inside which definitely was good for me! I didn't get much shading in, but there is some. It shows up better in real life. Once the poinsettias were dry, I fussy cut the two on scrap paper and glued them onto the panel. Some gold gems were added for the centers of the flower. The greeting was stamped, embossed and colored with the same green Aqua Flow pen. The white panel was added to a red card base. I'm debating added some clear gems around the flower. What do you think? Should I add them or leave it as is?

Like I said at the start of this post, I hope you are healthy and safe!  Hang in there.

Happy Easter

Happy Monday Everyone. I don't know about you, but I've been staying inside, mostly in my craft area making cards. I'm working on finishing up Easter cards, but I've mostly been making thinking of you and praying for you cards. I know several nurses and doctors, so I made some praying for you cards for them. This is a scary time for everyone and our doctors, nurses and first responders are on the front lines of this war on the corona virus. So I thought they could use some encouragement. My husband is the care pastor at our church and since he can't visit anyone in person right now, he's been on the phone a lot! I've been making cards for him to send to those he would normally visit. This is a great time to use our card making skills to encourage others!

My latest Easter cards use this month's Small Die of the Month from Spellbinders. They are the cutest little bunnies. I die cut and added their eyes, nose and the pink parts to their ears. I wanted to dress them up a bit so I stamped, colored and fussy cut the bows and glasses from DRS Designs 4 in 1
Fashion Accessories. I really like how these bunnies look! I stamped, colored and fussy cut the jelly beans for the one bunny to hold. I doodled on some dots and swirls with a white gel pen. The other bunny is holding a carrot I made using last March's Small die of the month set. After gluing the pieces to the bunnies I set them aside and worked on the background. I sponged on some TH Distress Oxide green inks for the grass and then stamped the easy grass background with the same ink. The sky was created by using some blue distress ink and the MFT small cloud stencil. The greeting was stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink and heat embossed with clear EP. Everything was glued into place and then the panel was added to the orange card base.

My second card was created for this weeks CAS challenge at Splitcoast Stampers, but of course I never uploaded it to SCS! I am forever doing that and I don't know why. It's not like I didn't have time this week!! Anyway way, here's my CAS card.

I started by die cutting the white panel with a MFT blue print die, then stamped and colored the fuzzy chick. Once again I stamped the bow from the 4 in 1 Fashion Accessories, colored it with Copics, fussy cut and glued it onto the chick. The greeting was stamped with Versafine Onyx black ink and then some clear crystals were glued on. They're hard to see in the photo.

Trust you are staying safely indoors! Enjoy the extra crafting time and please stay safe!! Praying this ends sooner than later!

tool time thanks

Happy Monday Everyone. Trust you are doing well, staying healthy and keeping calm! My how our lives have changed in just a few days. And there will more than likely be more changes coming, I was going to share a sympathy card I created this week, but decided with all that's going on, maybe a more fun and positive card would be better. So here's a thank you card I made for a friend who came over to help my husband fix a leak we had in our basement. Actually, I think my husband helped our friend fix the leak!  :-)

I started by stamping the tool border image with Memento black ink onto white CS, colored them with various alcohol markers, cut it into a rectangle and layered it onto some brown CS. Next I stamped the BrushThank you greeting with Versafine Black onyx ink, die cut and layered onto the same brown CS. Both of these pieces were attached to the grayish brown panel and then attached to the white card base. Lastly I die cut the tools and added them around the sentiment. This was a fun and easy card to create. Now to fight the crowds at the store to pick up a gift card to enclose with the card. Yikes. Maybe I should just put some cash into the envelop?!!

Thanks for stopping by today. Staying in side and stamping as much as possible is a good way to stay healthy right now. Just saying!

green b'day greetings!

Happy Monday Everyone! Hope you had a great weekend and found some time to get inky. We are having some beautifully warmer weather here in NW Ohio. It is wonderful and definitely has me longing for the arrival of spring and all that goes with it. With that in mind I have a fun birthday card to share with you today featuring DRS Designs Friendly Flower Frog image.

I started by stamping the Friendly Frog image onto white CS with Memento Black ink, colored it with Copics and then added a mask so I could sponge in the sky, stamp the easy grass background and finally sponge on some green to go with the grass. Once the mask was removed and everything dried, I die cut the panel with a MFT rectangle die. Finally I stamped the arc birthday greeting with Versafine Black ink and heat embossed with clear EP. I used some fun foam to attach the panel to the white card base. Sone Nuvo Crystal Glaze was added to the centers of the flowers. I really like how this turned out. It just makes me smile.

Christmas Cardinal

Happy Monday Everyone. Trust you had a wonderful weekend and found some time to get creative. I know I should be creating and sharing Easter cards right now, but today I've got a Christmas card for you.

Each month I try to make 4 Christmas cards for the monthly Christmas Card Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. I don't always reach that goal, even though that's really not very many cards. Anyway, today I thought I'd share my most recent creation.

I started by stenciling on the pine needles and pine cones using an Altenew Stencil and some Distress Oxide inks. While that dried I cut a strip of vellum, stamped the greeting with VersaMark ink and heat embossed it with detailed white EP. After attaching it to the kraft panel, everything was added to the green card base. Next I stamped the small cardinal on a branch onto white CS with Memento Black ink, colored him with some Copics, fussy cut (leaving off the branch part) and then glued him onto the panel like he's sitting on the  letter M.

This bold Merry Christmas greeting is one of my favorites and I really like how this card turned out. I still need to make two more cards for February and here it is March 2. Oh well, the whole purpose is to get a head start on my Christmas cards and I am accomplishing that!
