Summer Fun

Happy Monday! Trust you had a great weekend!
I have two cards to share with you today.

The first one features the Flamingo Palm Scene which was stamped with Memento Black ink, colored with Copics and die cut with a SB die. I used the same die and a larger one to die the hot pink frame. The Hula Pig was stamped, colored and fussy cut. She's attached to the card with a mini Action Wobble. I like how she moves on the card. Kind of looks like she is dancing the hula! The greeting is one of my favs. It's a great little greeting with a cute font and perfect size.

This second card uses a sketch from a couple of weeks ago on Split Coast Stampers. I started with the green panel and stamped the easy grass background with Memento Bamboo ink. It kind of looks like the green, or the fairway. Well maybe it looks more like the rough! The Golf is image was stamped with Archival Black ink, colored with pencils, die cut and layered on some green CS. For the corner pieces of the sketch I re-stamped the Golf is image twice, colored the golf balls and fussy cut them. The gold balls are glued onto the grassy area while the main image is attached with foam adhesive for some dimension.

I hope it is sunny and warm wherever you are and you are able to enjoy your day doing your favorite summer activity.

feel better soon

Hello Everyone. Hope you had a great weekend and found some time to get creative.

I have a couple of get well cards to share with you today. The first one was super easy and I really like the CAS look. I die cut a circle out of scrap paper to create my stencil, then I sponged a couple of Distress Oxide inks in the circle. Once that dried I stamped the dandelion image three times and used some green distress oxide ink to paint the stems and leaves. The greeting was stamped with Archival black ink.

For this card I started by the stamping the silhouette palm trees with Versafine Black ink and heat embossed them with black EP. Next I sponged on various Distress Oxide inks to create the background. I used a small brush to sprinkle on some water for interested. The feel better soon is part of a larger greeting and was stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with detailed white EP
once the black frame was die cut. Pretty bird Odie was stamped, colored with Copics, fussy cut and layered on some die cut palm trees before adding him to the frame.

celebrate birthdays

Happy Monday Everyone. Hope you had a great week and weekend. I have a couple of birthday cards to show you today. The first one is on the feminine side and uses the new flower scroll image. I started by stamping the flower scroll with Memento black ink onto white CS, colored with Copics and attached it to a black panel. Next I die cut another black panel with a SB celebrate die. Once the layers were attached, I added the black gingham ribbon and then put everything on the white card base. The flowers were die cut using various flower and leaf dies.

The second birthday card is more playful. I sponged the water/waves with a couple of Distress oxide inks using a stencil made with a wavy border die. The Killer birthday greeting and bubbles were stamped with Versafine Black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I added some clear Nuvo drops to the bubbles to make them look a bit more realistic. The happy Shark was stamped onto white CS, colored with Copics and fussy cut. I die cute some sea grass and attached them along with the shark image.

Cured yet?

Hi Everyone. Hope you have had a wonderful week. My card today is one of those Impossible Cards. Splitcoast Stampers had a great tutorial on how to create one and I had to give it a try. It really is quite easy. You can find the tutorial here.

I started with the blue CS, made the cuts and folds and then added the layers. The Leonard Pig Sickday Blues image was stamped with Memento Black and colored with Copics. I used a corner punch to round a couple of the corners before attaching it to the black CS and then base. The speckled paper was made using the splatter background stamp with three different Distress Oxide inks. The Cured Yet? greeting was stamped and added to the front. That piece gives the card a bit more stability. The second half of the greeting was stamped and added to the back for even more stability.

Thanks for stopping by today. Have fun getting inky!
