Flowers, Puppy Dogs and Snowmen!!

I have some cards today created for specific challenges. This week's challenge at DRS Designs is to use brads on your card. I used the brads on my punched flowers for their centers.

The card base is purple with a layer of golden yellow and then a white layer that was embossed with a flower embossing folder. The flowers were created using three different flower punches, layered together then held together with yellow and purple brads. The leaves were punched with a MS punch held on with small glue dots. The Thank you sentiment was stamped in black on the white panel before the embossing. This was a quick and easy card and I like the result!

This next card was created for the Seize the Birthday Challenge. This week's challenge is to create a masculine birthday card using their sketch.

The card base is kraft card stock with a layer of Tim Holtz Kraft-Core green card stock. The main image was stamped in Memento Black on white card stock and colored with Copics. I used the Easy Grass Background stamp to add some more grass to the image, after masking the gray puppy. Nesties were used to cut out the image and its layers. Behind the main image is a kraft panel that is stamped with the Dog Paw Background in Memento Cocoa ink and layered on brown CS. The Sentiment was also stamped in Memento Cocoa on white and cut into a banner. The "paws" were created using a MS punch. After punching them in the kraft, they were layered on scalloped ovals.

Here's the sketch we were to use. I like the look and will be using this one again!

This last card is for Lesley's Merry Monday challenge. This week we were to choose three items in a row (like Tic Tac Toe) to create our Christmas card.

I went diagonally and chose Blue, Color with Markers and Ribbon. This is also my last card for the monthly Christmas Card challenge at SCS.

The card base is white with a layer of Bashful Blue that was embossed with the CB snowflake folder. Nesties were used to cut out the oval center in the blue panel and create the white scalloped frame for the main image. Merry Christmas was stamped in black before the embossing. The snowman and friend is stamped in Memento Black on white, colored with Copics then attached behind the blue panel. Some blue sheer ribbon and a rhinestone snowflake were added to finish the look.

Thanks for stopping by!

Huggable, Squeezable, Kissable!

Happy Monday Everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. Can you believe this is the last week of January? Valentine's Day will be here before you know it! With that in mind, I have a Valentine card to share with you today.

The Able Valentine Greeting was stamped in Memento Black ink on white card stock, colored with some pink copics, cut with nesties and layered on pink and black CS. As soon as I saw this new stamp I knew I wanted to use it on a zebra fold card, so that is what we have today.

The card base is white with layers of black and pink CS. The outside corners of both pink panels are stamped with the new Dotted Heart stamp in Pretty in Pink. It's kind of hard to see the hearts on the smaller panel, but they're there. :-)  The small panel is also embossed with the CB Swiss dots folder. Inside Happy Valentine's Day is stamped in black and can only be seen when the card is opened.

Some small pink half pearls were added to the main image panel to finish the look. I really like the way this turned out. I hope you like it too.

This week's challenge at DRS Designs is to use a pig image on your card. We'd love to have you play along with us this week. You can check out the challenge here. The winner gets to choose 2 stamps from DRS Designs amazing collection!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

DRS Designs Weekly Challenge and Tuesday Morning Sketches

This week the challenge at DRS Designs is to use a pig on your card. DRS Designs has some cute little pigs. I chose to use this Leonard the Pig image. I love how he's holding all these presents! :-)  This is also for my monthly quota of Christmas cards at SCS.

The card base is white with a layer of Real Red. On top of that is another layer of white that was embossed with the CB snowflakes folder. Leonard was stamped in Memento Black in on white card stock, colored with Copics and layered on some Real Red. The two sentiments Ho, Ho, Ho and Merry Christmas was stamped in black ink on white, cut with nesties and layered on Real Red. Some pom pom ribbon was added to the bottom of the card. Some diamond stickles were added to Leonard's hat to finish the card. Hope you like it.

For Tuesday Morning Sketches I created another Valentine card using DRS Designs new single rose stamp. It's such a pretty rose stamp. I love it!

This card base is white with a layer of Pretty in Pink. The next white panels were stamped with the Interlocking hearts background stamp with VersaColor Petal Pink and Sage inks. The Single Rose was stamped with Memento Black, colored with Copics, then layered on Pretty in Pink CS. A pink ribbon and bow were added along with some pale green rhinestones.

Thanks for stopping by. If you have time, we'd love to have you join in this week's challenge!!

Roses and Friendship & Merry Monday #46

Happy Martin Luther King Day! I am fortunate to have the today off from work and I plan to use it to create some Valentine cards and a birthday card for my new son-in-law.

Today I want to share a Valentine card that features our new Single Rose. Isn't it so pretty? Roses are my favorite flower so I really am enjoying creating with this new stamp!

The card base is white with a layer of pink. The two white panels were stamped in Pretty in Pink with the Interlocking Heart and Circle background stamps.

The image was stamped in Memento Black ink on white card stock and then colored with Copics. I used my scalloped heart nesties to cut out the rose positioning it on the left hand side of the heart. I also used those same nesties to cut out the two pink hearts. On the small heart I stamped the first part of the Life is Friendship Greeting in black. The rest of the greeting is stamped in black on the scalloped panel at the bottom of the card. Some white heart buttons were added to complete the look. Hope you like it!!

This week's challenge is to make a tri-fold card. You can see what the Design Team created here. We'd love to have you join us.

With the day off I found time to create a card on Monday for Lesley's Merry Monday Challenge. This week's challenge is to use a bird on the card. I used my SU Two Step Bird Punch to create this CAS card. This is also for today's CAS challenge and my monthly Christmas Card Challenge at SCS. I now have 2 of the five cards I'm suppose to create for January!!

I started by scoring the red card base diagonally. The Merry and Bright sentiment was stamped in black on the white panel before embossing the panel with the CB snowflake folder. The bird was punched out of real red card stock and embossed with the swiss dots and herringbone folders to give the bird some dimension. A tiny black half pearl was added for the eye. The branches were punched out of dark green card stock. The same green was used for the border that was punched with a MS snowflake border. The small green snowflakes are some of the ones punched on the border. Some clear rhinestones were added to the centers.

Thanks for stopping by.

Merry Monday on Friday!

This week has been extremely busy for me and I just found time to stamp today!! I'm suppose to be creating 5 Christmas cards each month so I don't have that panic come December. Well here it is halfway through the month and I'm just now making the first Christmas card for 2013! I'd better get a move on!

I used this week's sketch design by Lesley at Always Playing with Paper. I started with a white card base, then added a panel of Old Olive card stock that was embossed with the CB snowflakes folder. The Cardinal on a Branch was stamped with Memento Black ink on white, colored with copics, die cut and layered on a Real Red lacy circle. The Christmas Blessings sentiment was stamped in Memento Black and die cut with a Nestie banner die. I punched some Real Red flowers and added an olive rhinestone to finish the design. I really like the way this turned out.

This is also for the Free For All challenge at Split Coast Stampers today.

Thanks for stopping by.

Until next time,

Happy Monday

Last Monday when I posted we had beautiful snow on ground. Well after the unseasonably warm weather and rain this weekend, there's no snow anywhere!! I must admit it was nice to be able to walk the dog without having to bundle up, but I do miss the beautiful snow! Oh well, I'm sure it will be back soon enough!!

This week DRS Designs is the sponsor at Craft Your Passion and the theme is Gone Country.I created a couple of cards in honor of this challenge. The first card features our new Saddle Up Cowboy. Isn't he just adorable?!!

The card base is dark green with a layer of white card stock that was stamped in Handsome Hunter and Ballet Blue with the Woven Plaid stamp, my favorite plaid. I love the look it creates!! On top of this, I added a strip of blue that was punched on one side with a star border. On top of this is a white layer stamped with the Interlocking Star background in Ballet Blue. The main image, Saddle Up Cowboy was stamped with Memento Black on white, colored with Copics, die cut and layered on green and blue card stock. Some blue buttons with green bakers twine were added to finish the look. Hope you like it!

My second card features the Cowboy Snowman. I love snowmen and just couldn't resist creating another card!!

I started by stamping the Cowboy Snowman on white card stock with Memento black ink. After coloring him with Copics, the panel was attached to the kraft card base. After embossing a piece of real red card stock with the CB snowflake folder, I die cut a labels 8 out of the middle. Some brown bakers twine and a button were added before attaching it to the card base.

So we have two challenges for you this week: the Craft Your Passion Gone Country and DRS Designs own  challenge to use buttons on your card. We'd love to have you join us in one or both of these challenges this week. You could be the winner of some new DRS Designs stamps!

Thanks for stopping by.

ODBDSLC137 and SCS Inspiration Challenges

Today I created a card for Our Daily Bread Design Challenge to use something new and something old. For me the stamp set is old and the embossing folders are both new.

This was a clean and simple card to create. I started with a white card base, added a layer of SU Bashful Blue card stock, then a layer of white card stock that was embossed with a flower embossing folder. On top of this is a layer of white that's embossed with a dots folder and layered on the Bashful Blue card stock. A sheer blue ribbon was added to the left side before attaching everything to the white card. The Bible Verse is from ODBD Scripture Collection 9. It is stamped in Memento Black on white and layered on a beaded oval nestie. A Cheery Lynn Flourish is added behind the Bible verse.

My second card for today was created for Split Coast Stampers Inspiration Challenge. The Layla Grayce site had so much to choose from, but I kept coming back to the rose tea pot. Maybe because DRS Designs just released a couple of new rose stamps that I love!!  :-)

This too was a clean and simple card to create, though for me, any time I color an image, it's kind of difficult. I really struggle with coloring images with my Copics. I'm keeping with it and one of these days, maybe it won't be so intimidating!!

The Heart Stem Rose was stamped in Memento black on white card stock, colored with copics and die cut. It's layered on the same beaded oval die as my first card. This is a new die for me. The rose image was attached to a white panel that was embossed with the same flower folder as above. I added some glitter on a roll from Recollections and red rhinestones to finish the look.

Hope you like today's creations. Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time,

Thursday Challenge

This week's challenge at DRS Designs is to use buttons on your card. I found these little heart buttons on sale after Valentine's Day last year and am just getting around to using them!  Here's what I created for this week's challenge.

I started with a white card base, then added a real red layer. On top of the red are two white panels stamped with the Interlocking Hearts background and the Easy Dots Background. These panels are layered on black card stock. Some heart ribbon was added to a black strip that was punched with an EK Success border and then attached to the left side of the card. The main image is the new Single Rose Stamp. It was stamped in Memento Black ink on white card stock, colored with Copics, cut with oval nesties and layered on a real red scalloped oval. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Black on white, cut with a banner die and layered on a scalloped banner in real red. I knotted some black x-stitch tread through my scalloped heart button before attaching it to the banner. Hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by today. If you have time, we'd love to have you join in this week's challenge!

Until next time,

Snow Fun!!

We still have some snow on the ground here in Ohio and it is beautiful. I really don't mind the snow, as long as I don't have to drive in it!!  Today I'm sharing a card I created in honor the snow that features some of our new winter stamps.

The double tall pines were stamped on the white panel in Memento Black ink and colored with Copics. I stamped the snowflake background in VersaMark ink, added clear embossing powder, heat embossed it and then sponged some SU Ballet Blue ink all around. Skippy the Penguin was stamped in black on white card stock and fussy cut.  A couple of torn paper panels were added to the bottom for Skippy to play on. I added some stickles to the edges of the snow and a snowflake ribbon.  The No Snow Fun Greeting was stamped in black on white and die cut, then layered on the same blue card stock as the card base. Hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by today. There's still time to join in the torn paper challenge seen here. We'd love to have you play along.

Until next time,
