Happy Monday!!

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend! I spent most of my free time stamping this weekend, so I definitely had a great weekend.  :-)  My card today is a birthday card that would be perfect for a little boy.

The background was created by stamping the Starry background in VersaMark on blue CS, then embossed  with detail white embossing powder. After layering it on red CS, some red gingham ribbon was added. The star button was attached with red baker's twine. I think this is my new favorite way to use ribbon and buttons on cards!!  Spaceboy Skip was stamped with Memento Black on white CS, colored with Copics and cut with a Nesties label. Since it's a little big already, I just sponged some Real Red ink around the edges. The greeting was stamped with black on white CS and layered on red CS. Some red star brads were added to complete the look. Hope you like it.

Sweet Little Foal

Happy Monday Everyone! Trust you all had a great weekend and enjoyed honoring your dads!!

Today's card features our new sweet foal (which will be released very soon). Isn't he the cutest! I love how he's resting in the grass and wild flowers. :-)  I started by stamping him in Memento Black ink on white CS, colored him with Copics, sponged a little Bashful Blue for the sky, die cut him with a romantic rectangle nestie, then layered that on a larger rectangle in Bazzil green CS.The background was created by stamping the Silhouette Branch Background in Old Olive and layering it on the same Bazzil green CS. Some green gingham ribbon and bow were added to complete the look. Hope you like it!

Merry Monday Challenge

I have missed the Merry Monday Challenge for the last couple of week's and I'm so glad I found time to make a card using this week's sketch. I have also cased Kristie's card from last week's challenge. I had never heard of "ghost stamping" and loved the look on her gorgeous card. So I had to give it a try!! I like how this turned out, even though my card doesn't look quite like Kristie's. Guess I need to practice this technique some more. :-)

Here's the sketch we were to use this week and my card.

I stamped the large Filigree snowflake and the medium Filigree Snowflake images from DRS Designs, first in white and then in Night of Navy over top, turning the images just a bit. The sentiment is stamped in Night of Navy ink and layered on the same kraft CS. The banners are embossed with the CB snowflake folder. A couple of rhinestone snowflakes were added to complete the look.  Hope you like it.

It's a Jungle out there!

Hi Everyone! Today I want to share a card that features our adorable Jungle Jim Elephant. Isn't he just the cutest thing, especially when paired with this greeting!

I created the "jungle" by stamping the Easy Grass Background stamp in TH  Crushed Corduroy and Antique Linen, along with the Sea Grass stamp in Memento Bamboo ink and finally the Leafy Silhouette in Old Olive.  Some Antique Linen was sponged around the grass to create the ground. Jungle Jim was stamped in Memento Black on white CS, colored with Copics and fussy cut. Before attaching him to the card with pop dots, I sponged some Bashful Blue for the sky and stamped the Greeting in Memento Black. The main panel is layered on Old Olive CS and then attached to the white card base.

Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to check out this week's "go fish" challenge!

Waiting and Trusting!

My neighbor is going through chemo right now. Last night she had to be hospitalized because of an infection. I created this card to encourage her and to let her know that I'm praying for her. I used today's sketch from SCS.

I started by stamping the cross image from ODBD Flourished Christian Symbols in Barely Banana ink on white CS, then the Scripture verse was stamped in Memento Black. I used an old paper cutter that has a deckle blade to cut this into a rectangle. It's layered on a piece of So Saffron that was cut with the Nesties Romantic Rectangle die. The Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery pieces were embossed with a couple of flowers folders. A blue paper flower with a green rhinestone was added to complete the look. I think my neighbor will like this and I pray she in encouraged by it and my prayers.

I'm entering this in this week's ODBDSL157 at Our Daily Bread Designs.

Let's Party!

For June and July I need 14 birthday cards just for family members!!  So needless to say, I'm working on birthday cards. Today I want to share with you the card I created for my niece's husband. I used this week's sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I started by stamping DRS Designs Starry Background in Memento Black ink on the kraft card base. The Party Lizard was also stamped in black on kraft, opposite corners punched and then matted on black CS. The Let's Party sentiment was stamped and layered the same. A kraft tab, some brads and a black button were added to complete the sketch. I think he'll like it!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Birthday Greetings

Happy First Monday of June!! My family has a lot of birthdays and anniversaries in June and July, so I've been busy making birthday and anniversary cards. Today I have a simple birthday card to share with you.

I started by creating my own DP using the Interlocking Flower background with Barely Banana ink on white card stock. The centers of the flowers were colored with an orange Copic marker. This panel is matted on a piece of So Saffron CS. The Birthday Greeting was stamped with Memento Black ink, die cut with nesties, colored with Copics and layered with a scalloped circle. The Happy bee was also stamped with Memento Black ink on white CS, colored with Copics, fussy cut and attached to the card with pop dots to give some dimension. Before attaching the bee and greeting to the card, I added a panel that was punched with a scalloped border and then embossed with a CB honeycomb border. I added some lace stickles to the bee's wings for a bit of shimmer. I really like the look of this CAS card.

I used the Seize the Birthday sketch for this card. You can see details for this challenge here.

You still have time to join DRS Designs' Challenge this week to use at least one tree on your card. We'd love to have you join us.

Cupcake Challenge "at the Beach"

This week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge is "At the Beach" and since I recently obtained a cute beach scene stamp from DRS Designs, I decided to play along!!  Here's the cupcake we were to use for inspiration.

And here is the card I created.

The card base is teal blue with a layer of Bazzil golden yellow that was embossed with a SU embossing folder. The Brushed Beach Sunrise image was stamped with Memento Black on white CS, colored with Copics and cut into a square with rounded corners. Beneath the main imade are to smaller squares that were stamped with DRS Designs 4 in 1 Beach Background in various colors of ink to match the main image. These are layered on the same teal CS. The greeting was stamped in black ink on the same Bazzil CS, cut into a banner and attached with pop dots. Some teal dew drops finish it off.

Hope you like it!  Thanks for stopping by today!
