The challenge at Tuesday Alchemy is anything but a card. I'm working on gift card holders for my grown kids. One of our family traditions has been to hide a gift for each person on the tree. When the kids were little we hid toys, but now that they are grown we hide gift cards. Here's one of the gift card holders I created.
I used some shimmery cranberry card stock for the stocking, added some DCWV DP for the stocking top, toe and heel. The sentiment is stamped on white card stock and attached to a shimmery scallop circle cut with a nestie. A couple of jingle bells were tied to the ends of the cranberry ribbon, attached to the stocking with glue dots and then the sentiment was attached over the ribbon.
I used the same DCWV DP to create the pocket on the back to hold the gift card. I stamped DRS Designs "A Gift For You" on the pocket in Memento Black ink. These will be hung on the tree for them to find Christmas morning. :-)
Today I had some extra free time so I made a card for Tuesday Morning Sketches. I think I enjoy sketch challenges the most of any challenge and I'm so glad I've discovered this one! Here's the sketch and my card.
The card base is white with a layer of red card stock with some DCWV DP panels attached. The main image is a free digital from Bugaboo. I colored the image with Copics and layered it on the same red card stock. Some red bakers twine and tiny red snowflakes with rhinestones were added to finish it off.
Thanks for stopping by.
Until next time,
shelia
Cute stocking, and I LOVE that sweet card. The red matting is so pretty next to all that light blue, and the image is adorable. Thanks for joining us at Tuesday Morning Sketches this week!
