Today I have a shaker card that goes with our latest challenge: Trash to Treasure. I used some old acetate for my window and scraps of paper that I'd normally throw away to punch out the leaves inside the shaker.
I started by die cutting the leaf from the center of the green CS, then embossed it with the CB Happy Birthday folder.Next I cut out a piece of the acetate and glue it onto the back and set it aside to dry. I cut two pieces of fun foam into rectangles just a bit smaller than the green piece, then used a square nestie to die cut the centers out. I glued these two pieces together and then glued them onto the card base. While this was drying, I embossed the Happy Birthday greeting onto vellum and then attached it to the green panel. It's longer than the panel, so I just folded the edges underneath and taped them down. I punched several small leaves out and then added some red, orange and green sequins to the mix. Some of the sequins and leaves were glued down so even when the card is held upright you can still see some of the shaker pieces.
The birthday wishes greeting was stamped on the inside with Versafine Black Onyx ink and the open leaf was stamped using Hero Arts Ombre ink.
Hope you can find some time to play along with us this week!
Thanks for stopping by,
shelia
