I have long admired the wreaths created with the Martha Stewart branch punch and every year I tell myself I need create a card with one of those wreaths. I've had that branch punch for years, but have never made a wreath. This week's challenge at Merry Monday is to have a wreath on your card, so that was the inspiration I needed. Here, finally is my wreath card!
I started by die cutting a ring using two circle nesties for the base of the wreath. Next I punched a boat load of branches out of three shades of green CS. I used the smallest glue dots in my stash and attached the branches until I liked the look and felt it was full enough. It didn't take as long as I thought it would. Some red half pearls were added for the berries. The background for the wreath was created by stamping the woven plaid in Real Red and Handsome Hunter inks then die cutting it with a square nestie and layering it on some dark green and real red CS. The sentiment was stamped in Memento Black ink on white CS before embossing the panel with a poinsettia EF. This was then layered on the same dark green CS and then attached to the real red card base.
I will definitely make some more of these wreaths. They are so easy to do! I also want to try a snowflake wreath!!

It gives me the Creeps!!
This week's challenge at DRS Designs is "It gives me the Creeps!" DRS Designs is just about to release some fabulous new Halloween stamps so this is the perfect challenge to show some of them off. Be sure to check here to see all of the DT's creations.
Here's my card.
The cauldron was stamped first in Memento Black ink onto white CS and colored with Copics. Next the brand new spooky tree limbs (136F) were stamped with VersaColor black ink. The cauldron was masked for the last branch and all the sponging for the night sky. I used Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue and Not Quite Navy for the sky. Some Antique Linen and Memento Bamboo were sponged for the ground and the easy grass background was stamped in the Bamboo ink as well. The accent bats were stamped randomly in the sky. The little ghosts were stamped, outlined with light gray Copic, fussy cut and attached with pop dots. The sentiment is part of the larger Witches' Brew Greeting. I just colored the bottom line of the greeting with my Memento Black marker and stamped it under the cauldron. It does show up better in real life than in the photo. A black bow completes the look.
We'd love to have you join in this week's challenge. You could be the winner of some awesome new stamps!!

Wicked Wednesday ATC Challenge
This week DRS Designs is the sponsor at Wicked Wednesday ATC and their challenge is Bountiful Blooms. ATC stands for Artistic Trading Card and has to be 2.5 by 3.5 inches. Here's the ATC I created using our medium Daisy stamp.
I stamped the daisy with Memento Black ink 4 times, colored with copics and then painted some VersaMark ink in the center of the daisies and heat embossed the centers with some clear embossing powder. It just adds a tiny bit of sparkle to the centers of the flowers. The sentiment was stamped with VersaMark on blue CS and heat embossed with detail white EP, then die cut with a pendant nestie. Everything was layered on the orange CS and then a ribbon was knotted and added diagonally.
After creating the ATC I decided to use it as the focal point on a card.
To create the card I embossed some of the orange CS with a Darice flower folder, layered it on a strip of blue CS that was punched with a Fiskars border. The ATC is layered on a piece of the same blue CS and attached with pop dots. The blue CS matches the blue flowers in real life. Don't know why it's so off in the pic.
Be sure to check out the challenge and join in the fun. You could be the winner of a $10.00 gift voucher to DRS Designs.

Trick or Treat
I absolutely love this new Leonard Pig image, Count Porkula, even his name is adorable! Isn't he just the cutest? I know I'm going to have some fun stamping and creating with him.
For today's card I stamped Count Porkula in Memento Black ink on white CS, colored him with Copics and then die cut him with an oval nestie. I created the pumpkin by die cutting three ovals from orange CS, and sponging some Pumpkin Pie ink around all the edges. The middle oval was die cut a second time with a smaller oval to form a frame for the image. The vine and leaves were made using a flourish die that I cut and pieced where I wanted it to go. The grass was punched with a border punch and added to the black layer that was stamped with the spooky eyes background stamp with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with detail white embossing powder. The sentiment was stamped in black ink and die cut. Some pumpkin pie ink was sponged around the edges. Some dotted ribbon completes the look. Hope you like it.
Be sure to check the DRS on line store for the newest Halloween stamps, including Count Porkula!

Happy Halloween
Welcome to another DRS Designs Challenge. This week is a color challenge. Since the colors reminded me of Halloween, I went that direction.
I started with the Ghost Family image, stamped it with Memento Black ink on white CS, colored the little ghosts and their fun socks/shoes, then masked them off to sponge in the sky and ground. Three tiny bats were stamped into the sky with black ink. I created the window frame with my Cricut and glued it over the image. The purple card base was stamped with the Chevron card edger in VersaMark ink. After attaching the window, the little black cat that was stamped, colored and fussy cut, was glue onto the window sill with a glue dot. The witch's accessories were also stamped, colored and fussy cut before attaching them to the card. The sentiment was stamped and die cut. A few dimensional dots complete the look. I had fun creating this. I love the cat, looking out the window at the trick or treaters, even though I'm definitely a dog person!!
We'd love to have you join this week's color challenge!! You could be the winner of some great DRS Design's stamps!!

Birthdays
Happy Monday Everyone! This week's challenge at DRS Designs is Birthdays. I am always in need of birthday cards, so I really enjoyed this challenge.
To create this card, I started by die cutting all the circles using various sizes of circle dies. Next I arranged them on the white panel and once I was satisfied with that, I glued parts of them down to help hold them in place. Next I dry embossed the panel. I really like the look of the embedded embossed technique. This panel is layered on orange CS and then onto the white card base. The Happy Birthday greeting is part of the multi birthday greeting. I stamped only this portion in black ink and layered it on the same orange CS.
I found this green chevron ribbon at the dollar store and had to create a card with it! I started with the Birthday Candle Burst image and colored it with copics, using an olive Copic to match the ribbon. Once colored I matted it on some orange and then attached it to the Old Olive card base. The ribbon was added at the end.
We'd love to you to join in this week's challenge. You could be the winner of some awesome DRS Designs Stamps. You can see details here.

Happy Birthday
This week's challenge at DRS Designs is to create a birthday card. I have recently started experimenting with Gelatos and decided to use some for my background. Here's what I came up with.
To create the background you just rub on the gelato colors and then use a baby wipe to blend the colors. I like the look this creates, but I know there is so much more you can do with these color mediums. The birthday greeting was stamped in VersaMark, after the gelatos had dried, and then heat embossed with detail white embossing powder. This panel was layered on some orange CS. The flower and brad were added before attaching it to the card base. Hope you like it.
We'd love to have you join in the fun and create a birthday card with us. You can see details here.

Birthday Greetings
Hi Everyone. Hope you are all enjoying your last days of summer. School is about to start back up here in Ohio and that automatically makes me think of autumn and falling leaves. I love the colors of fall. Today I have a clean and simple birthday card with a fall theme to share with you.
I started by creating the leaves. I'm just beginning to experiment with Gelatos and decided to use various shades of yellow and orange to create these leaves. I just rubbed on the colors in random places on the CS and used a baby wipe to blend the colors. Once it dried I stamped the Open leaf in Memento Black ink and fussy cut them out. While waiting for the gelatos to dry, I stamped the Birthday Greeting in Memento Black on white CS and dry embossed it with a SB leaf folder. Some orange ribbon was added and the leaves arranged on top of that. Some gel dots finish it off.
Be sure to check out this week's challenge to use Chevrons and Arrows on your cards. You can see details here. We'd love to see what you create!

The blue panel was stamped with our Double Chevron Card Edger in VersaMark ink. A strip of white CS was stamped with the same image in Colorbox Sky Blue ink. I fussy cut the edges before attaching it to the card base. The Cupcake image was stamped in Memento Black ink on white CS, colored with Copics, die cut and attached with pop dots. The arrows were die cut and then the sentiment was stamped inside and some blue ink was sponged on. Some red sequins were added to the opposite corners to finish it off.
Hope you like it. We'd love to have you join in the fun. You could be the winner of some awesome stamps!

Christmas Village
Even though it is August, I just can't seem to stop playing with these new Christmas Village Stamps! They are just so fun. Today's card features the Village Garage, Post Office and Betty's Craft Store! I started by stamping each village building, then masking them to stamp the snow lines and pine trees. Everything was colored with Copics. Some stickles were added to the snow lines and I used a Recollections opaque white white to put the snow on the trees. The sentiment is part of the Merry and Bright Greeting and was added after the blue ribbon. Some navy ink was sponged in for the sky.
This week's challenge is to use rubber bands to stamp your background. You can see details here. It's a fun way to create some unique backgrounds. We'd love to have you join the fun!
