This week's challenge at DRS Designs is Easy as 1,2,3. You need to have 1 of something, 2 of something and 3 of something on your card. Pretty easy, right? Actually, I had a hard time with this one. Go figure. Here's what I finally came up with: 1 sentiment, 2 colors (pink and gray), 3 embellishments (button, baker's twine and lace). Here's the card.
I knew I wanted a baby card featuring Jungle Jim the elephant, so I started by stamping him on white CS with Memento Black ink, coloring with Copics, die cutting and layering on gray CS. Next I stamped the Vicki's Versatile Background on the pink panel with Stazon Dove Gray ink, layered it on gray CS and added the white lace before attaching it to the white card base. The sentiment was stamped, die cut and added over the lace. The button and baker's twine complete the look. I think this image makes a sweet baby card. I actually created this for my niece who was told they were 90% sure she was having a girl at an ultrasound visit. Before getting this in the mail, she had another ultrasound. This time they're 100% sure she's having a boy. I guess I'll be making another one of this with a more masculine touch. :-)
Hope you can join in this week's challenge! You could be the winner of some fabulous stamps!!
I'm also entering this in the Crafty Creations Challenge: All Creatures Great and Small. I loved reading those James Herriot books!! You can see details for this challenge here.

Memorial Day
Since today is Memorial here in the USA, I thought I'd share a patriotic card in honor of our military heroes.
I've seen a lot of shaker cards on line and in card magazines lately so I decided to create one. I haven't made a shaker card in years. I started with a blue card base and added a red panel. Next I stamped the oval stain glass image on white CS with Memento Black ink and colored it with red, blue and light gray Copics. The blue panel was stamped with the splatter background image in VersaMark ink, after die cutting the circle out. The sentiment was stamped in black ink on white CS, then the USA was stamped in red after stamping off once. Sequins were added to the inside for the shaker part and some star buttons in red, white and blue complete the look.

Thank you
Today my card is a thank you card created for a friend who did a wonderful act of service for me!! I used this week's challenge at DRS Designs for inspiration.
It's a color challenge. Aren't these colors fabulous! Here's my card.
I started with a piece of water color paper, sprayed it with water and then applied gelatos and mixed them together with my finger. Quite messy, but fun. Plus the gelatos come off your hand super easy with a baby wipe. Once the gelatos dried, I stamped the dandelions and sentiment and then die cut them. The green panel was dry embossed with a Darice folder. A button and some baker's twine complete the look. Hope you like it.
We'd love to have you plan along with DRS Designs this week. You can see details of this week's color challenge here.

Bee Happy!
Happy Monday, everyone. Hope you had a great weekend and were able to get in your craft room and get creative. I've been working on getting my stash of anniversary and birthday cards replenished. Today I have a birthday card to share with you that features DRS Designs' Happy Bees, which just happens to go with this week's challenge: Birds and Bees!
I started by sponging So Saffron and More Mustard inks onto the white CS using a honeycomb stencil. Once the stenciling was completed I stamped the It's your birthday part of the Sweet Birthday greeting in Memento black ink and then the Bee Happy part of the Spring Bee Happy greeting just below. The Bitsy Bumble Bee and the Happy Bees were stamped on white CS with Memento Black ink, colored with Copics, fussy cut and then some stickles were applied to the wings for some sparkle. After layering the panel on some mustard colored paper I added the ribbon, positioned the bees and stamped the bee trails. After that I attached the bees with glue dots.
In real life, I am not a big fan of bees. They scare me and I stay away!! But these cute little bees just make me smile! We'd love to have you check out the challenge and join in the fun. You could be the winner of some awesome stamps!
DRS Designs is also the sponsor at Send a Smile 4 Kids this week. It's an anything goes challenge. So you have two chances to win some DRS Designs goodness.

Send a Smile 4 Kids
DRS Designs is once again sponsoring Send a Smile 4 Kids. This time the challenge is Anything Goes. I used today's Inspiration Challenge at Split Coast Stampers to help me create this Lady Bug card.
I started by stamping the Swiss dots background stamp in black on red CS. The red panel was embossed with a Darice dots folder. The ladybug image was stamped with Memento Black ink on white CS, colored with Copics, die cut and layered on a scallop circle in black. The sentiment was done the same white. After putting everything together on a white card base, a bow was created with red and black Baker's twine using my bow easy. Hope you like it.
Be sure to check out the challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids. You could be one of the lucky winners!

Challenges
Today I have two challenge cards to share with you. First is the challenge at DRS Designs: Birds and Bees. You have to use either birds or bees on your card. Here's what I created.
I started with a red card base, then added the So Saffron layer after stamping it with the honey comb stamp in VersaMark ink on top and dry embossing it on the bottom half. The green strip was embossed and added to cover up the seam. The strawberries were stamped on white CS with Memento Black ink, colored with Copics, die cut and layered on the same red CS. The Happy bee and Bitsy bees were stamped on white, colored and fussy cut. Some stickles were added to their wings to make them sparkle. The bee trail and Bee Happy sentiment were stamped with black ink.
You can see details for this challenge here. We'd love to have you play along.
This week's challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs is a sketch challenge. Here's the sketch and the card I created.
First I stamped the light house image on white CS, colored it with Copics, then cut and matted it on blue CS and bright yellow CS. These same papers were used to make the banner and I stamped the bible verse underneath the image. It was too big to put anywhere else. I wanted a more masculine card, so instead of ribbon, I used baker's twine and added the star brads to the banner rather than under the image. You can see details about this challenge here.

Happy Monday
Today I have a fairly quick and easy card to share with you. I am thoroughly enjoying playing with this new Love Birds stamp! I think it is perfect for anniversary and wedding cards. It is just the sweetest image. I started by stamping the love birds with Memento Black ink on white CS and then stamped the leafy branch image a couple of times to fill in some of the space. After coloring everything with Copics, I sponged a little bashful blue ink around for the sky. A heart shaped nestie was use to die cut the image and the light blue layer. The Best Wishes sentiment was stamped with black ink on the pink CS before embossing it with a Darice hearts folder. Two opposite corners were rounded and then photo squares were added to the other two corners. A blue ribbon was added after layering it on a blue mat and then everything is attached to a white card base.
There's still time for you to join in this week's challenge: Beautiful Backgrounds, we'd love to have you play along!!

I created this card today for the Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge. It's a simple sketch that I thought would work well with this little doggie dilemma image from DRS Designs. Friends kept our doggie for us last month when we traveled to VA, so I wanted to create a thank you card for them with a puppy image.
Here's the sketch design.
I started by stamping the image on white CS, coloring it with Copics, sponging some Bashful Blue ink on for the sky, layering it on blue CS and then adding the baker's twine. Once I had it together I decided to stamp the thank you on this panel instead of the larger green one. I embossed the green panel with s Sizzix paw folder and layered it on the same blue CS. Some paw buttons were added to complete the look. I think our friends will like this.

May the sun shine bright
I think Spring is finally here in NW Ohio!! It's warm, the birds are singing, flowers are blooming and green leaves are on the trees! I'm loving it. This beautiful weather inspired me to create today's card.
I started by stamping the picket fence in Memento Black ink on white CS, then coloring it with Copics. Next I masked just a small portion of the fence and stamped the single bird house and colored it with Copics. Both the Love Birds Branch and leafy branch were stamped and colored with Copics. I created a circle stencil for another project and used one of the smaller circles to sponge in yellow ink for the sun. Next I sponged Old Olive for the grass and some Bashful Blue for the sky. I stamped only part of the sun shine bright greeting in the top left hand corner. The panel is layered on Bashful blue CS and then on a white card base. This card just makes me smile! Hope it does the same for you!

ODBDSLC236 Bible Verse Challenge
A friend and I got together to stamp and create yesterday. This is one of the cards I made. I started by stamping the ODBD door image, sponging it with TH distress inks, cutting and matting it on black CS. My friend had some TH hardware that made perfect door knockers, so I had to use one on this image. I really like the look it gives. I punched a border with a MS picket fence punch and added it to the back so just the top portion shows. The Bible verse was stamped on white CS, die cut and layered on black. The gray panel was embossed before layering it on black CS. The black ribbon was added before everything was put together. Some black half pearls and greenery complete the look.
I'm entering this in the Bible Verse Challenge at ODBD.
