Birthdays

Hi Everyone. It's birthday season for my family. Just about everyone has a summer birthday so I've been busy creating birthday cards.

I think this image and sentiment, one of my favs, makes a great masculine card. I started by stamping the argyle background along the left side of the white panel, then I stamped the argyle diamond with three different inks. Next I stamped Golfer Duff in Memento Black ink and colored him with Copics. I used a silver gelly roll pen to add some shine to his golf club. The sentiment was stamped on white CS, cut at an angle and layered on brown CS. Everything is layered on blue and then attached to the brown card base. A button and twine complete the look. Oh, the rest of the sentiment is inside the card. It says "way above par."  This is a great sentiment for those golfers!!

My second card only uses one stamp, the brush stroke Happy Birthday. I stamped it on the pink CS, then embossed it with a Darice flower folder. Some sheer pink ribbon was added before attaching it to the white card base.

The butterflies were punched out of some water color paper on which I used gelatos to make a color wash of light pink, blue, green and yellow. It's hard to see the colors in the pic. Here's a close up of one of the butterflies. Maybe you can see the color better.

Some white pearls were added to the bodies of the butterflies to complete the look.  Hope you like it.

Be sure to check out this week's challenge, "You've got mail." We'd love to have you play along.

Thanks for stopping by today,
shelia
