A Doggone Christmas!

Hi Everyone. DRS Designs is just about to release some new images and I get to give you a sneak peak of this new adorable "Santa Puppy" (408F) and the new "Doggone Christmas Greeting" (410D) that goes so well with this puppy.

I started by die cutting the window with a MFT die and then stamped the puppy inside the window with Memento Black ink. Once he was colored with Copics, I added Nuvo White Blizzard Glitter drops to his hat. The new greeting was stamped with Archival Black ink and a red gel pen was used to add the red highlights. The pine branches and holly leaves were created with a MS punch. The red bells were made with a Taylored Expressions die and red glitter paper. Some Nuvo red glitter drops were added by the greeting to complete the look.

Don't you think this little puppy is the cutest? Be sure to check back tomorrow and each day after to see this and other soon to be released images. You're going to like them!

Thanks for stopping by.

Leafy Thanksgiving

I am trying to get all of my Thanksgiving cards finished this week. I really like the sketch for Tuesday Morning Sketches this week and combined that challenge with the Splitcoast Stamper Challenge to use fiber on your card today. Here's my card:

And here's the sketch:

Instead of using a circle, I made a cascade of leaves. I got this idea from Sister Sandie at Spiltcoast stampers. She created a beautiful card with cascading leaves this week that I just loved and had to case it. Here's a link to her card.

I started by die cutting all the leaves with a Darice die. I sponged some distress ink in matching colors along the edges and then went back with some brown distress ink. The brown is darker in real like. I don't know why it looks almost white in the photo. Anyway, I stamped the greeting with Archival Jet Black ink at the bottom of the yellow panel, layered it onto brown CS, added the burlap ribbon and then attached it to the cream card base. The leaves were glued on and then the twine bow was added. I really like the look of these leaves.

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi Everyone. I have been trying to get all of my Thanksgiving cards created this week before I get seriously started on Christmas cards. I'm afraid I have fallen behind on all of my card creating. Anyway, my card today features the elegant filigree pumpkin and Script Happy Thanksgiving greeting.

I started with a piece of water color paper and sponged on some TH Distress Oxide inks. After blending the colors, I stamped the filigree pumpkin onto the distress inks with water. I really like the result of this technique. While that dried, I stamped the filigree pumpkin with the same orange distress ink, after stamping off once onto scratch paper, then stamped the greeting over top with Archival Jet Black ink. After putting it all together, I decided it needed a little bling, so I added some orange sequins.

Give Thanks

Happy Monday Everyone! My card today is a fairly simple one, but doesn't look too simple. I think it's the glittery gold embossing and gold paper. I really like how it turned out and I hope you do too.

I started by die cutting the gold panel with a SB die, as well as the smaller brown panel. The Filigree Pumpkin and Gives Thanks greeting were both stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with glittery gold embossing powder. I did use my Misti and ended up stamping and embossing the pumpkin twice. A die cut flower and leaves were added to the top left hand corner. Some clear Nuvo drops were added to the center of the flower. I realize you really cannot see the flower very well. I can never get a good photo whenever I use shiny cardstock.

Here's a look at the inside.

The Psalm 100 greeting was stamped with Archival Jet Black ink onto a cream panel and attached to the inside of the card. A couple of gold leaves were added to the opposite corners.

Hello Fall

Hi Everyone,

My card to day features the new Hello Fall greeting which I stamped onto water color paper using Archival Jet Black ink. Once it was die cut with a MFT square stitched die,  I layered it onto some orange CS that was also cut with the same die set. The background layer was created by stamping the silhouette leaf image with various TH Distress Oxide inks. I added different distress inks to the stamp, spritz it with some water and then stamped the leaves onto the same water color paper. Once it dried, I layered it onto the same orange CS and attached everything to the cream card base. I really like the way the leaves turned out. I love the colors of the leaves in fall. Pretty soon though I won't think of them so fondly, since we have lots of trees which means lots of leaves to rake. But, you can't have the beauty of fall without a little clean up, right?!

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by,

Tuesday Morning Sketches

This card is for this week's sketch challenge at Tuesday morning sketches. I've been super busy lately and haven't had much free time for card making. Today I made myself take some time to get creative. I'm so glad I did! It really is relaxing for me and that's just what I needed.

Having said that, I'm not really sure I like this color combo, but I do like the sketch and how the card turned out. I was trying to use colors as close to the color challenge at Splitcoaster Stampers, but I don't think I got real close. Oh well, I tried.  Here's my card:

And the sketch design:

I stamped the leaf image with three different Distress Oxide inks, overlapping them some. Once the panel dried, after being spritzed with some water, I attached it to the orange CS and then to the Brown card base. The Birthday Greeting was stamped in the same brown distress ink, die cut and layered onto the same orange and brown CS. The strip at the top was die cut with a Spellbinders die. I added the orange ribbon before attaching it to the card. The bow was created using my Bow Easy (it's the only way I can make a decent bow!). Some orange rhinestones finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by.

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge

My card today is for this week's cupcake challenge. Here's the inspiration cupcake:

Aren't they beautiful cupcakes. Makes me hungry for something sweet!! Anyway, here's my card.

I started by die cutting the nativity scene from white CS with an Echo Park die. I place it on the navy CS and marked where the top should be, removed it and stamped the sentiment and starry background with silver ink and heat embossed it with silver embossing powder. Once that cooled, I attached the nativity pieces with some Tombow glue. When I started to attach everything to the white card base, it just didn't look quite right to me, so I sponged the same silver ink along the edges of the white case base and heat embossed with silver embossing powder. Last I added the star, which was die cut from some silver CS. A milky white rhinestone was added to the center. I really like how this turned out. It's a fabulous color combo.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy Thanksgiving

Hi Everyone,

Trust you had a good weekend. Our weather here in NW Ohio has finally cooled down. We had a week with temperatures in the 90s. That's rare for August, let alone September! I'm happy to see those temps leave and some cooler fall like weather appear. :-)

My cards today feature a couple of new DRS greetings (Happy Thanksgiving and Favorite Season of All) and die cuts from Spellbinders. About a year ago I joined the small die of the month club at Spellbinders. Today's cards use September's dies. I really like the leafy wreath with extra leaves and acorns for embellishments.

I started by die cutting the wreath in green, yellow and red CS and then glued onto the cream card base. While that dried I die cut several leaves and acorns from yellow, orange, rust and brown CS. I used some TH Distress inks to add some color to the edges of the leaves and acorns. Once they were added to the wreath, I stamped the Happy Thanksgiving greeting in the middle of the wreath with Archival Jet Black ink.
For the second card, I die cut the wreath out of green CS, glued it onto the white panel and attached it to a yellow card base. I again die cut some leaves and acorns from yellow, brown and red CS, using some distress inks to add some dimension to the edges. The bow was die cut from a small die of the month club set from last November. The greeting was stamped with Archival Jet black ink. Some Nuvo clear drops were added to the center of the yellow bow.

Here's a look at the inside of the cards.

The Psalm 100 greeting was stamped with Archival Jet black ink. Some die cut leaves and little acorn were added to the corner. I really like how these turned out.
