GREATEST GIFT

Hi Everyone. DRS Designs is proudly sponsoring the CRAFT Challenge this week. It's Christmas Presents. When I saw what the challenge was I had to play along and use DRS Designs Lovely Gifts Christmas Greeting along with the Baby Jesus Heart. These are two of my favorite stamps. Here's my card.

I started by stamping the Baby Jesus Heart with Memento Black ink, coloring with Copics and fussy cutting it. I used a Memento Black marker to go around the edges of the heart and a Sakura Gelly Roll pen on the start. Next I stamped the greeting with VersaMark ink onto the blue card base and heat embossed with detailed white EP. I used a SB edge die to cut the darker blue panel and then stamped just the presents from the Christmas Leonard Pig image with VersaMark ink randomly. Three white ribbons were added before attaching it to the card base. The heart is popped up with foam dots. A gift button with added baker's twine and Nuvo clear drops were added for embellies.

Hope you can find some time to join in the challenge!

good friends

Hi. Can you believe this is the last week of November? Wow, this month has flown by. I'm working hard on getting all of my Christmas cards completed. I usually do several each month so I don't have to rush at the end, but for some reason I just couldn't get into it. So I am rather behind right now. Here's one I created for a friend.

I created the plaid background by stamping the teal CS with the largest piece of the Woven Plaid background image with Archival Jet Black ink. Once that dried I added the small die cut snowflakes along with the trio snowmen that were die cut and glued onto the black panel. The greeting is part of the Good Friends sentiment. I cut it apart so I could stamp just the first part onto black CS, heat embossed with white EP and then die cut the banner. One last snowflake was added to the greeting.

The rest of the greeting was stamped inside the card along with the snowflake background using some TH distress ink.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Merry Christmas to All...

Hi Everyone. My card today features the new Santa with Birds image. I had fun coloring this image and adding some shimmer here and there.

The Santa and birds image was stamped with Memento Black ink and colored with Copics. Some Nuvo Blizzard drops were added to his hat and the fur trim on his coat.  After the drops dried, I added some clear Wink of Stella to the snowy areas. The panel was die cut with a SB die, attached to the red panel and then to the white card base. Some white snowflakes were die cut and added to two of the corners. Red nail heads were added to the centers.

You can barely see, but on the inside the Interlocking Snowflakes Background image was stamped with Real Red ink along the bottom of the card.

So how are you doing with your stash of Christmas cards?  Hope you are further along than me!!

Cupcake Inspiration Challenge 431

Hi Everyone. This week's cupcakes for the Cupcake Challenge are just too cute. Plus the theme is fall, so what could be better for those last minute Thanksgiving cards. I'm glad I could play along.  Here are the cupcakes for inspiration.

And here's my card:

This was a fairly simple card to create. I started with the green panel and dry embossed it with a SB leaf EF after stamping the greeting from DRS Designs with Archival Jet Black ink. After attaching it to a kraft layer and then the cream card base, the die cut leaves were added with some TH Matte Medium. The leaves were die cut with a Stampin' Up thinlit die. I think these leaves look so elegant.

Wishing you Peace!

Happy Monday Everyone. My card today features some images from the Christmas Village stamps. DRS Designs just released a new image (Village Rocks/Pond's Edge) to go with the village stamps, especially the Village pond.

To start I stamped the Village Pond with Memento Black ink onto white CS and then stamped the new Pond's Edge using my Misti to make sure it was lined up nicely. Once it was colored with Copics, I used a SB die to cut it out and then stamped the greeting, which is actually parts of two new greetings:  Doggone Christmas Greeting and Deco Peace and Joy Greeting. Next I stamped some trees from the Christmas Village Accessories onto white CS, colored with Copics, added some snow with a white gel pen, fussy cut and attached them to the scene. Some are glued on and some are attached with pop dots for some dimension. I used a clear Wink of Stella pen to add some shimmer to the snow and trees.

The background was created by stamping the snowflake background with VersaMark ink onto teal CS and heat embossing with white EP. Some TH Distress ink was sponged on to help make the color match the pond. Baker's twine was added before attaching the panel to the white card base. A die cut snowflake and teal rhinestone complete the look. Hope you like it.

thinking of you

Hi Everyone. Today I have a couple of Christmas cards that use the same new greeting on two very different cards.

The first one features the Heartache at Christmas Greeting as the focal point. It was stamped with Archival Jet Black ink onto white CS and then The Poinsettia Vine Corner image was stamped on two opposite corners and colored with Copics. After die cutting with a SB die, it was attached to the red layer that was embossed with a Paper Studio EF, then onto the green layer and then the white card base. I felt it needed something in those other two corners, so I stamped the Holly Jingle Bell image onto white CS with Memento Black ink, colored just the holly with Copics, fussy cut and added them with Matte Medium. Some red glitter Nuvo drops were added for the berries.

My second card only uses the last line of the Heartache at Christmas greeting. I purchased this snowman die while on vacation back in September and decided it would pair nicely with this greeting.

I started with white CS and sponged on some TH Distress Oxide inks after stamping the snowflake background with Versamark ink and heat embossing it with clear EP. Next the snow banks were created with some Fawn Lawn dies and the snowman was added after adding some Nuvo white Blizzard drops onto the snow banks. The partial greeting was stamped with Archival Jet Black ink and the three snow flakes were die cut with an IO snowflake die. Some blue half pearls were added to the centers of the snowflakes.
