The ODBDSL 190 challenge is a non traditional Valentine/love colors. This is also for today's Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. I went with lavender and created a wedding card using some new ODBD stamps and dies.
I started with a white card base, added a layer of lavender CS and some DCWV DP. I used my heart nestie to die cut the lavender heart. The bird cage, banner and sentiment were all stamped with Memento Black ink and die cut. The tiny birds were stamped with Versafine lavender ink and die cut. Some tiny pearl hearts and sheer purple ribbon complete the look. The ribbon really does match in real life. Didn't notice how off it looked when I uploaded the pic.
The Merry Monday challenge is to use an animal on your Christmas card. I chose to use SU Dasher. He's one of my favorites.
The kraft panel was embossed with a Darice folder that was sponged with white ink first. Dasher was stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with Chestnut embossing powder, then layered on Chocolate Chip CS before attaching it to the red card base. The Merry Christmas sentiment was stamped in VersaMark on red CS and embossed with the same powder. Some punched white snowflakes and red rhinestones were added to finish the look.
Thanks for stopping by.
Until next time,
shelia
Great job with both challenges! I like the Non traditional Valentine colors that you chose...The Lovebirds theme is perfect for a Valentine card.
ReplyDeleteOn your Christmas card...I like how you used the ef for your background for your cute deer. I don't remember seeing that folder before...(but it's now on my wish list!
Both cards are well done. I agree with my DW. Unconventional colors are nice to see on the valentine card. Like the deer as well and how you did the card it stands out well.
