Father's Day

With Father's Day this Sunday I thought I'd share a card I created for my Father in Law using the stacking blocks technique.

The card base is black CS with layers of blue. For the front I embossed the panel with a chevron folder. The sentiment is a classic one for father's day. How many of us heard this exact statement or one very similar from our dads? I love it! It is stamped with Memento Black ink on white CS, die cut and layered on black CS. Some black ribbon and yellow stars were added to complete the front.

The inside is cut to form the blocks. Isn't this a cute technique? I'm going to make a grad card using this. Grad and 2014 can go on the blocks. I guess I'd better get started on that card since the grad party is this Saturday!!  Anyway, back to the Father's Day card. I layered the same blue CS on all the panels on the inside after stamping them with the Polka dot background, Interlocking Stars background and the starry night background. The letters for Best Dad and the stars were cut with my Cricut machine. You can find out the details on how to make this stacking block card on Splitcoast Stampers.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you can join this week's challenge at DRS Designs. You can see details here.

Until next time,
