Challenges

I have two challenge cards today. This first one is for DRS Designs Color Challenge. Here are the colors:

And here is my card:

I started by stamping the new lighthouse image from DRS Designs on white CS, colored with Copics, die cut and layered on a scalloped red circle. The darker blue CS, which really does match the lighthouse roof better in real life, has sea shells stamped in VersaMark ink all over. A nestie border die was used to cut out the "bubbles" on the bottom. The greeting was stamped with black ink, die cut and attached at the top with glue dots. A red baker's twine bow completes the look.

You can check out the DRS Designs' challenge here.

My second card is for Our Daily Bread's Shining Light Inspiration Challenge.

I was inspired to create a Father's Day card. This did not turn out quite like I had in mind. The image was much harder for me to color than I expected. I stamped this image while at a friend's house last month, so I couldn't start over today when the coloring didn't go the way I wanted.  Maybe I should have used watercolors instead of Copics?! Anyway, here it is.

After coloring the image, I added some Wink of Stella white along the waves and even in the sand some. It doesn't show up too well in the pic, but it does look cute in real life. The sentiment was stamped, die cut and the edges sponged with Teal ink. It's popped up with foam squares so it goes over the baker's twine better.

You can check out the ODBD challenge here.

Thanks for stopping by!
