Welocome

Happy Monday Everyone. Have you been checking out the new images from DRS Designs? Aren't they the cutest? My card today uses the new Barn Door image.

I stamped the barn door twice along with the cattail milk pail image onto white CS with Memento black ink. I used my Misti to line everything up. After coloring the cat tail image, I used a mask for it and some masking tape for the doors and stamped the woodgrain background image all around the doors. I even used a ruler to extend the metal slider for the doors, but then covered it up with the greeting. Anyway, everything was colored with Copics. The ground was sponged on with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink. The Welcome greeting was stamped with VersaMark ink onto black CS,  heat embossed with detailed white embossing powder and die cut with a SB banner die. I imagine when those barn doors open there's all sorts of square dancing and line dancing going on!

Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to check out all the new images at DRS Designs.

Thinking of you

Hello. Trust you had a great weekend and found some time to get creative. I've been working on some thinking of you type cards. Our church has started a new care ministry and I thought it would be good to have a stash of cards to take when visiting or just to send to some of the elderly who aren't able to get out much. Here are a couple of quick and easy cards I made this weekend that use the same greeting.

This card uses a new Spellbinders die and embossing folder. These are super easy to use and look amazing in real life. I die cut and embossed the white panel, stamped the greeting, added the blue ribbon and attached it to a blue card base. Super quick.

The Old World Map and greeting were stamped onto the kraft CS with TH Distress Oxide Vintage Photo ink. The sailboat was also stamped with the same ink, die cut and some Vintage Photo was sponged around the edges. This panel was attached to a brown CS layer and then attached to a kraft card base.

Be sure to check back this week for a sneak peek at some awesome new stamps DRS Designs will soon be releasing. You're gonna like them!

Happy Birthday!

Hi. I created this card for the biweekly Cupcake Inspiration Challenge. It's a color challenge this time. Here's the cupcake for inspiration.

Don't those cupcakes look yummy!! I decided to use some flowers on my card too. The flowers were die cut using this month's small die of the month from Spellbinders. The sunburst background was die cut from a Hero Arts Die that came in their July card kit. The Happy Birthday greeting is from DRS Designs and was stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I like this bright and cheerful birthday card. The die cut flowers are so pretty.

Christmas/Winter in July

Well after a beautiful spell of gorgeous weather, it has turned super hot again. So I decided to create a winter/Christmas card to help me think cool thoughts!!

I stamped the adorable cowboy snowman with Memento Black ink onto white CS, colored him with some Copics and die cut using SB oval dies. Isn't he the cutest!?!

The background was created using the paisley die from the SB small die of the month Kit for July. I die cut 6 of them, glued them on, cut off the pieces hanging over the edges of the panel and then used some of those pieces to fill in the places that needed something. Other than all the gluing, this was a pretty quick and easy card to create.

I will also post this on the Crafting from the Heart blogsite since this week DRS is sponsoring their challenge. It's an anything goes challenge and the prize is a 20% off coupon from DRS Designs. Hope you can join in the fun! We'd love to see what you create!

TMS 461

I created this card for the sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I like the CAS look of this week's sketch design.

I stayed pretty true to the sketch. The only thing different is I used another oval behind the sentiment instead of a rectangle.

The sentiment is from DRS Designs. The flowers were die cut using this month's small die of the month from Spellbinders. The white panel was embossed with a Darice basket weave folder. The ovals were made with the stitched oval die from Our Daily Bread Designs.

Summer Fun!

Happy Monday! Hope you had a great weekend. We have been having some unusually hot weather, but this weekend it cooled down quite a bit. Perfect weather for being outside. My card today celebrates being outdoors.

This was super easy to create. The card features our Golf Cart Girl and the Golf is greeting. Both were stamped with Archival ink onto white CS, colored with water color pencils, die cut and layered on red. For the white panel I dry embossed it with the CB Swiss Dots folder and turned it over. The back side looks more like the dimples on a golf ball. Once everything was attached to the white embossed panel I added some red Nuvo drops for interest.

I hope you are experiencing some nice weather and able to get outside and enjoy your favorite summer fun activity!

Joy!

We are having such unusually hot weather right now, I decided to create a cool snowflake card, hoping it'd cool me off. It didn't, but that's ok. Soon enough the heat will be gone and we'll be having usually cold weather. :-)

Here's my card.

I started with some watercolor paper and sponged on three different TH Distress Oxide inks added some water splashes and set it aside to dry. The word "Joy" was die cut using Spellbinders Small Die of the Month Kit from May 2017. The snowflakes are buttons that I purchased somewhere several years ago. I had exactly enough to do this layout, which is from this week's sketch challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. Here's the sketch:

Once the panel dried, I added it to a white card base. The snowflake buttons were added with some strong adhesive and then the word "Joy" was glued in place.

Cupcake Inspiration!

Here's a card I created for this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge

Here's the cupcake:

I used the sketch design from today's Sketch Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. I started with two watercolor panels, stamped the wavy lines on one and the palm trees on the other. The trees were heat embossed with black EP and the wavy lines with clear EP. Next I sponged on some Distress Oxide inks for the ocean and sky. The banners were die cut using SB dies and some of the leftover watercolor paper. The Happy Birthday was stamped onto the white panel with Versfine Onyx. The happy seal and octopus were stamped with Memento Black ink, colored with copics, fussy cut and glued onto the card. The starfish was added with a pop dot.

Challenges

I have discovered a couple of new to me sites that have challenges. I like to do these since they challenge me to try new sketches, color schemes, etc. Today I have two birthday cards to share. The first one is for Paper Players. It's a Celebration Theme Challenge in honor of their 400th challenge. Why have I not seen this site before????  Anyway, here's my card.

I started with the black panel, die cut the peek a boo window using a MFT die, stamped and embossed the birthday greeting from DRS Designs. The balloons were die cut using a SB die and attached to the panel to look like they are floating. The background behind the balloons was created using TH distress oxides inks and splattering a little bit of water. Everything is attached to a white card base.

This card was created for the Sketch Saturday Week #520 Challenge. You can use any sketch between #215 and 519. I chose sketch #332. Here's a look at the sketch.

I used a speech bubble instead of the banner and moved my focal image to the left.

The MFT You're the Sweetest greeting  was stamped onto the white panel with TH Distress Oxide Spiced Marmalade ink as well as with black ink onto the speech bubble. The MFT popsicle was stamped with the same distress ink, and die cut using the matching die. The sunglasses were created using a Taylored Expressions die. I added some clear Nuvo drops to the lenses.

Red, White and Blue!

Since this Wednesday is the 4th of July I thought I'd share some cards I created for the USA's Independence Day.

This first one is super simple. I started with the blue CS, stamped the As a Nation greeting with VersaMark ink and embossed it with detailed white EP. Next I used some Gina Marie rectangle dies to cut out the blue panel as well as a white one and a red one. These are glued together and attached to the white card base. To finish it off I added a large white star button with some blue and red baker's twine. I really like the look of these rectangle dies.

The Star Wreath was stamped with VersaMark ink onto white CS and heat embossed with detailed white EP. Once it cooled I sponged  some TH Distress Oxide inks onto the CS and splattered some water drops. The God Bless America greeting was stamped onto white CS in two stages, die cut and attached to the card. A glittery red star button and white baker's twine complete this one.

On this card, I started with white CS and masked everything off except one corner. In that corner I stamped the Interlocking stars background image with VersaMark and heat embossed with detailed white EP. I moved the mask around and did the same stamping and embossing in the opposite corner. With the mask still in place I sponged on some TH Distress Oxide ink over the stars. Next I rearranged the mask and stamped part of the Open Plaid background image with Memento Ladybug ink. Moved the mask and stamped again. The Stars and Stripes greeting was stamped with the same red ink, die cut and popped up on the panel with foam adhesive. I really like how this one came out.

Happy Fourth of July!

Birthday Wishes

Here's a card I created for this week's Sketch Challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I find sketch challenges to be super fun. This one is a really cute design and super easy. Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

I apologize for the picture. I'm having camera issues and the color is off. I started with the blue CS, die cut the band of flowers using the June Small Die of the month dies from Spellbinders. I arranged them on the white panel and then stamped the Birthday greeting with Archival Black ink. Everything is layered onto blue and then the white card base. Some white half pearls were added to the centers of the flowers. I liked this so much I did a second card in pink. Super easy and cute.
