Sympathy

Sympathy cards are the most difficult cards for me to create. As I'm sure they are for many of us. I am in need of one this week and decided to use today's sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers and the Shining Light Challenge at ODBD for inspiration. Here's the result.

I started by stamping the last line of the DRS sympathy stamp (H029) only in Memento Black ink on the bottom right hand corner, then embossing this panel with a Darice flower EF. I sprayed the entire panel with Luminarte shimmer spray and set it aside to dry while I worked on the other elements of the card. Now looking at this card, you are probably thinking "what other elements?" And you're right, this should have been super quick, but not for me. I had the hardest time getting the vertical Bible verse to stamp straight. I must have stamped it 4 or 5 times, before getting it centered and aligned. One side was punched with a scallop border punch. Some white lace ribbon was added before attaching the Bible verse. Everything is on a white card base.

Thanks for stopping by today and taking a look!

shelia

  1. Oh, Shelia, what a lovely white-on-white card! I just love this verse from Numbers...it's such a comfort. And, yes, sympathy cards are hard, but they mean to much to those who have lost! And this one will be loved! What beautiful embossing to enhance the beauty! It's a joy to have you join us once again this week for the ODBD Shining the Light challenge, sweet friend! Hugs!
