The Birthday Blues
The Challenge this week at DRS Designs is Birthday Blues: you have to create a birthday card with blue on it somewhere. It doesn't have to be all blue. I thought this would be a good time to try the Bokeh technique. It was really fairly simple, though it take me a few tries to get it right. I started with a piece of white CS and used a couple of sponge daubers to add the circles of blues. The inks are Colorbox Sky Blue, SU Night of Navy and Ballet Blue. Once the inks dried, I stamped the Birthday greeting in VersaMark ink and heat embossed with black EP. Some blue sequins complete the look. Fairly simple and easy to do. Just make sure the inks are totally dry before you do the embossing. I didn't wait long enough for it to dry the first time, so I ended up with black embossing powder all over the card. Not a pretty look!!
We'd love to have you join in the challenge this week. You can see details here.
Thanks for stopping by,
